“Well! I wish I had taken more pictures at this place but it was the first time I'd encountered a "schooner" of beer outside of the Pacific Northwest. It distracted me from taking any further photos at this remarkable establishment. I can't talk highly enough about this pizza joint. It's conveniently located right off the Glenn Hwy and easy to get to and then back on the road again. I loved the quirky layout of the building and the obvious expanse that has taken place as the place has grown. As an out of towner or "tourist" it was a treat to walk in and start looking at historical local Alaskan memorabilia. I got the sense that there was a lot of nostalgia and pride in the support of the local community. It gave off a super family friendly and welcoming air as we were escorted to our table. Marlis was our server and she was so friendly, honest and helpful. She was more than accepting as I worked my way through 96 oz of beer. Let's talk more about beer. Being from the PNW I'm used to a Schooner being significantly smaller than the "Mystery Schooner" Marlis brought me. It was a massively chilled 32oz bowl of Pizza Man Pale Ale to start with. 32oz! For $6! And it isn't even a Coor's, Bud Light, Miller Light, Rainier type of beer joint. They must have had close to 30 beers on tap and regular Schooners were only $8.75! For any beer on the menu! None of this PNW different prices for different beers. It blew my mind. And the food was really great! Beyond expectations. Chicken wings, cheese sticks, steak sandwiches, egg plant parmesan and of course PIZZA were all great. Their menu could work a little harder on identifying gluten free and vegetarian options as there aren't any markings in the menu. The menu itself is exhaustive and unexpected in it's offerings. I suspect you can go back every other day for a month sharing plates and not quite get through the whole thing. You gotta go. Make the drive, flight or float to get to Eagle River and experience the Pizza Man. Local treasure outside of Anchorage and worth the trip across the board. Say, "Hi" to Marlis for me and throw back a Schoon (or 3, if you're not driving).”

“The ambiance inside, and decor and Asian-themes, are very welcoming/refreshing. Awesome fish tank, too. Sizable menu offerings. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. Admittedly, our meal was delayed because they were low on both the chicken and Tilapia (fish) and had to thaw both for our meals. It happens, but wise is the culinary team who prepares for this… Otherwise, good meal and service.”

“They carry a great local line of baked goods here, Red’s, with everything from muffins to donuts to chose from. Many gluten free options as well. They also have a really nice breakfast and lunch menu that will satisfy any craving. The coffee is really good. If you are waiting for carry out or if you aren’t terribly hungry but want to support a wonderful local business, you can also stop in to browse the gift items they carry. They have quite a few unique items, including several gourmet food lines. Many of which are local as well. Of course, the staff are extremely helpful, which is never surprising in a place where they know customers by name.”

“This was our first time here and it did not disappoint! Cioppino is one of my favorite things of all time and theirs is great here. I’m newer to Anchorage and I’ve been missing having a local Italian place and I’m happy to say this is now my spot. Our meals and appetizer (calamari) overall were both amazing and we will definitely be back!”

“The Mints in the urinals do not taste good”

“Service (Andrea if I recall?) was wonderful and friendly! Food and beer was above average, but nothing spectacular. Expect significant waits for food when busy (beer service was quick, so we know this was no reflection on our waitress). We ordered a couple beers and a pizza shortly after sitting down and were there about an hour and a half.”

“The food here is authentic and AMAZING! It has become our go to Thai restaurant. We live over 30 minutes away, and it’s well worth the drive. Our favorite dishes from this Thai restaurant is the beef larb, pad Thai, and their fried rice. They are also one of the only Thai restaurants around that have traditional sticky rice! Their sticky rice always has the perfect texture and is evenly cooked. The whole facility looked and smelled clean and has very nice/proper table presentation (which most Thai restaurants do not have) To top it off, the Thai woman who owns the restaurant is very personable and kind! (She is also the main cook) I would highly recommend this restaurant!”
