“Wow, this place is amazing! I love the interiors - so bright and cozy. Music was a bit loud but that’s ok. The service is quick and the waitstaff is friendly. Th food, 10/10! We ordered oysters, steamed mussels, salad, and a bowl of clam chowder. Everything’s fresh and delicious. Glad we get to dine in here before we head out to our next destination.”

“Employees are awesome. If you’re new to the area, keep in mind this is not a traditional Safeway. It is the local mercantile and you’ll find all your food basics there with a slightly limited selection.”

“This was a nice exhibit! There was a lot of space for the fox(es), and I was able to see one of them. The fox was a little further away, but I tried to get some pictures of it. I enjoyed this exhibit, and also recommend going to this animal conservation center in general.”

“Best place in Girdwood to get all the souvenirs you need if visiting here. Also pretty handy when looking for gifts for kids and relatives that live elsewhere. I think it is the only retail location you can get the world famous official Girdwood hoodie”

“Great time at well-located, charming cabin. Two clean and comfy bedrooms plus a nice kitchen made our stay very comfortable. Nestled in woods but easy to walk to road w free town shuttle for restaurants and the tram and spa at Aleyeska resort. Nice trails nearby. Hosts were very nice and accommodating with luggage hold. Highly recommend!”

“I have no idea why this place is rated a 3. It was brought to our attention that a patron who was refused service due to alcohol intoxication was disgruntled and started to spam them with 1 star review (you can see it was around the same time 7 months ago.) Also, the staff at Hightower Pub were told to bash this establishment and spread rumors about the staff in attempts to sabotage their business. It’s really sad. I wouldn’t trust any of those reviews from 7 months ago that only have one review on their profile. The food and service are fantastic. The prices do feel higher, but post Covid times do that. Restaurants cannot survive without raising prices. The atmosphere is laid back and beautiful. I’m a picky, well traveled foodie and recommend this place to all of my friends who come out to Girdwood. The owner, Alexandra takes pride in her restaurant and staff, she makes it very apparent that she was grateful to make it through Covid times and to survive in this industry. I would highly recommend this place, don’t let the bad reviews keep you away. I have been here several times and do not have a personal relationship with the owner. This is an unpaid review of a place that I really enjoy going to and hate to see bashed on by immature people abusing social media.”

“Best experience I’ve ever had. Been to dispensaries in LA, Chicago and popular ones in Anchorage. This one is hands down the best. Helpful and knowledgeable staff, fair prices and wide selection of things you actually want to buy. Discovered live rosin vape. Incredible. All local grown. The prerolls were actually rolled well and not too tight. No stress, no lines and easy parking. I’d drive hours out of my way just to come here. People in the lower 48 have no idea it can be a positive experience like this. It was the cherry on top of our trip to Alyeska. 100%.”

“So much space for the ambassador brown bears, complete with pond and mini cabin. The many viewing areas give visitors great views of the bears playing, swimming, and napping. The elevated walkway is a great addition to both the black bear and brown bear habitats. Good signage. The don’t miss area of AWCC.”

“We did this today and it was the highlight to our trip to Alaska. Peter was our guide. He has so many interesting stories to share and was wonderful. Ryan was our lead musher with his assistant Hunter and his fiancée Sarah. They were incredible. Ryan is the grandson of Joe Redington who created the Iditarod decades ago….it was absolutely amazing to ride with him and listen to his stories growing up as a musher and racer from birth. I was skeptical about this activity as a dog lover, thinking this had an element of cruelty for dogs but I am happy to be wrong. These dogs are bred into racing and they love it. They were so excited to be ready to run the course and they are so beautifully treated by the entire team. The way these dogs were treated was so great…the team just knew what they needed, provided breaks through the course, water bowls and gave us the opportunity to pet and appreciate these gorgeous animals. After an incredible ride through beautiful mountains, over a roaring brook and passing a stunningly pretty blue sea and a glacier known as Milk Glacier, we were led to a cabin where the history of the Iditarod was explained by Ryan. Beautiful photos, the opportunity to feel his sled, try on his coat and beaver fur gloves AND to play with a group of puppies that were 34 days old….the puppies: Waffle, Bacon, Eggs, Benedict, and Pancake were so fabulous. I would HIGHLY recommend this activity to EVERYONE. It rained while we did this experience and the weather did not deter from the wonder of this experience. I have such an appreciation now for this sport, the Redington team and am so glad to have Ryan, Hunter, Sarah and Peter give us such a wonderful memory!”

“The wait is worth it! This place is amazing food. The prime Rib was perfect! And the salmon was amazing. For dessert we had a fresh blueberry pie with seemed like a cheesecake layer on top. Topped with whipped cream. Love this place 10/10 would come here again.”

“I really wanted to give 5 stars, but Sean dropped the ball a few times. So, let's get into this review! Hands down, love the atmosphere! Great vibes, awesome things to admire on the wall. Some of the stain glass was phenomenal. 1 Star Earned. Believe it or not, having a clean restroom means a lot to me and not just to some of the folks that read my reviews. 1 Star Earned for being a bar/hangout/restaurant restroom. Chair 5 signature items are their deep-dish pizzas. The one I tried was the Thai Chicken. Dough was spot on, cheese burnt on the sides where it meets the pan still makes my mouth water. Delicious! 1 Star Earned. A few staff members came up and talked with me. Everyone was smiling. Yup, 1 Star Earned! That darn Star lost was due to me getting up for a refill and then again for a togo box, and then I just decided to get up to pay when I was ready. So listen, don't give Sean a hard time. Who knows, bad days happen. Is that going to stop me from going back, hell no. Is it going to stop me from recommending it to everyone craving a deep-dish, hell no. Go here! Eat here! Drink here! If a guy named Sean serves you, tell him he is famous and tip well! Great place, I'll be back.”

We loved the people and how we were able to do all of this within a week. Thank you!”

“We went on the Comet Heli Hiking & Rafting Tour. It was incredible!! The helicopter ride was thrilling! We landed on the tundra overlooking Spencer's glacier! Our guide was Kyle and he was very knowledgeable and patient! He expertly guided us down the mountain, through a black bear encounter, around the chunks of ice and then down the river! Truly an unforgettable day. The highlight of our trip!”

“I want to thank the pharmacist for the kindness he showed me on my recent trip to Girdwood. I had come from Massachusetts to Anchorage to see a relative in the hospital there. The day I was flying home (May 9) I stopped at the apothecary for medicine to treat a blocked ear. Even though it was a half-hour before the store opened, he graciously waited on me and found what I needed. His act of generosity made my day - and my fligh home was more comfortable, too.”

“Just want to thank you for the fishing experience a couple weeks ago on Willow Creek. Shane was awesome - amazing guide. Knew the creek, fishing holes extremely well and helped me improve my fly-fishing skills. We caught several beautiful rainbows in the 20-25-inch range and lost some larger ones - my fault for getting too excited when trying to set the hook. I have fished many rivers and creeks in AK and Willow Creek definitely stands out w/ their large rainbows. We had a great time! Thanks again, Chris”

“Grabbed a cinnamon roll and Americano for my road trip to Seward. A convenient spot to grab sweets and coffee. The baked goods are a little more expensive than I'm used to paying for similar goods in Alaska. The service is great and employees are friendly.”
