“I've been camping in Alaska for over 20 years and I am amazed that I have never been to Finger Lakes State Rec Area. It is such an awesome little gem of a campground right in between Palmer and Wasilla. It's beautiful, clean, spacious, and quiet. And there is a boat launch for the lake, which allows motorized boats. You can fish on the lake or off one of the two docks. Fishing is supposed to be decent, but my friend and I had zero luck catching anything. The reason I gave 4/5 was the price of the campsites are really expensive per night ($25/$35 per night for tent/premium camping). I think the high cost becomes a bit prohibitive for the average camper and there are more cost friendly options along the Wasilla/Palmer Highway.”

“Wow, I cannot rave enough about this place! My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary weekend and we didn't even want to go home because we felt so at home the entire time. The property is gorgeous, and the room was quiet, charming, cozy, and meticulously clean. There were delicious muffins in the fridge, big recliner chairs, a relaxing jacuzzi, and the bed was so insanely comfortable. Being able to feed the friendly reideer was super cool as well! All in all, this was the perfect recipe for a romantic getaway. We'll be back!”

“Had the most memorable July 4th weekend with Ben! Coordinated the the trip with his wife, Amber, who was fantastic to work with. Went out with a group of 5 people and we were catching Kings all day. My wife and I are still sore from reeling in fish. I've been charter fishing all over/outside the US and Ben (Miller's Riverboat Services) was the most professional charter that I've been on. His goal was to give us all the best experience and he did! Ben is a super polite and genuine guy who did a phenomenal job finding the the hot spot to catch fish all day and filleted the fish for us at the end of the trip. We can't wait to book again with Miller's Riverboat Services!”

“The hotel is beautiful and always clean and sanitary. I have had a few issues w the staff though. On many occasions(several different stays) the staff has been very rude and not helpful at all. I will definitely not be over charged and treated like a 2nd class citizen to stay in this establishment ever again”

“I've been here for the last week. Linda has been a very accommodating host. I was here for three days, left for one then came back. I found both rooms to be clean, no off-putting smells and no maintenance issues. Its barebones minimum as you should expect for a motel in this price range. No A/C but its July and heat hasn't been an issue. I love that its right off the main road so easy in and out. The minor road noise has not been an issue for me. I can barely hear it with the door closed and cant hear it at all with fan in the rear window. Full beds, not queens. Great wifi service. No complaints. I'm back now for the third time for four more days.”

“Wife and I went here for a date, service was kind and welcoming, made sure our needs were met. Food time from kitchen to table was very prompt, did not have to wait long after our order. We got covered potato wedges which were delicious. I got the classic cheeseburger and my wife got NY steak. Both were cooked to order and tasted great. Only negative was my wife’s mixed veggies we a little raw. Would definitely go again.”

“We stayed for almost a week and settled in quickly. The room and grounds were spotless and Carol’s daily breakfast was delicious. After making the trip cross country it was such a relief to find a place this relaxing. Even though we visited during the summer we received a Christmas card from Carol - thank you! A prime example of how you are treated as a guest in this home. We will always choose to stay here when we visit family in Palmer.”

“I can't say enough great things about The Whispering Moose Bed and Breakfast, or about James and Cheryl, for that matter! The beds were super comfortable, the towels were the softest I've ever used, everything was incredibly clean, but cozy at the same time. Cheryl cooked us an amazing, delicious breakfast, and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. I wish we could have stayed longer, and we'll definitely be back if we're ever lucky enough to visit Alaska again!”

“I have stayed at Maier lake the past two years in August. I cannot tell you how awesome the private bungalows are in cleanliness foreman function. The bathrooms look like they were freshly remodeled on both visits. The staff was absolutely some of the best I’ve ever encountered from a hospitality standpoint. Michael and Marissa were absolutely the best hosts we could’ve ever asked for. I would recommend this property for its location, cleanliness, & hospitality for a large group event or even a couples retreat. A unique and fabulous place to stay.”

“Calling all hunters! This was an absolutely perfect place to stay while awaiting our flight to the bush for moose hunting. Susie makes an absolutely fantastic breakfast and was more than accommodating when it came to our fluid schedule and hunting prep-needs. It was great to have a nice bed and shower with room to do one final gear check in between fishing for rainbows off the dock! Trust me when I tell you, start and end your hunting adventure here!!!”
