“My husband and I live in the Anchorage area, but wanted to have a quick weekend getaway. We booked Cabin #8 and really enjoyed our weekend! There is live music on Saturdays, so many hiking trails to choose from in the area and we went during blueberry season. If you are staying, I highly recommend booking the sauna. It was so much fun to lay in the (freezing) river then running back inside the sauna to warm up. There are plenty of board games, the drinks are delicious and the pies are homemade.”

“Great surprise! Half mile off the road but worth it! Lady serving very accommodating and friendly. Best burger yet...so good I did put any dressings on it. Locals friendly. Free pool. Juke box. Thanks!! Wife loved her roast beef sandwich. Healthy salads. Low prices. Only incident was after reading US throws away 500,000,000 straws a day we usually say no straws. But didn't remind watress this time since nearly every restaurant we've been to after 7 weeks in Alaska already doesn't give straws unless requested. ...we were given wasteful straws ..darn.”

Wilderness Place Remote Fly In Fishing Adventures

“It's been just over 25 years since my visit to the lodge. I can remember the visit like it was yesterday! The staff was excellent, and the food was superb! I can recall one day questioning what time it was, as I was getting hungry. Our guide replied "11". I told him "wow, that's great! It's still early!" He laughed and said "no no no, it's 11PM! You guys have been fishing for over 13 hours!" I guess time does fly when you are having the time of your life! A few word of advise: be cautious of the "clear water". The water is so extremely clear that one cannot gage the depth as one step is 2 feet deep, and your next step is over 12 feet deep! And yes that water is cold, even in August! Watch out for the Germans. As I harvested my next day's bait from my current days catch. The Germans snatched and ate my bait (salmon eggs), within seconds of turning my back! I still smile when thinking of that. So if you love fishing (or even if you so so like it), and want to make lifelong memories; take this trip to the Lodge!”

“There's a couple reasons to rate this five star. First. It's right on the kenai River and it is absolutely beautiful! Second, it's location is very convenient as it is right on the highway. Quick and easy to pull into and there's local convenience stores in Cooper landing along with gas. They have fire pits with picnic tables and they have bear proof food containers for each site to store anything the bears might want to get into, which is... Absolutely, everything. Seriously never underestimate what the bears can get into. There's a public outhouse and a public can pump well for use at the campsite. Been stopping off here on my way back and forth for over 50 years and each time I enjoy it.”

“I can easily say this is the best stay I've ever had in my life. Better than hotels and the best B&B I've stayed at. The energy was so good. The owner was so sweet and cheerful, she made us feel so comfortable and all the recommendations she gave us for restaurants and hikes were amazing. The house was really beautiful, our room was super cozy, and the bathroom was so nice I felt like a goddess. Everything smelled really good and everything was clean. The bed was very comfortable, the bedsheets and pillows super soft. And she made us an amazing breakfast! She asked first if we have a preference which I totally appreciate. She made us salmon caught by her in a delicious omelet, and fruits and veggies from her garden... by far the best Alaskan experience. It was the highlight of our trip. Can't wait to go back!!”

Super clean and tidy, not cramped, and the bed is so so so comfortable. Can’t go wrong staying here. And despite the economy, the price and value is excellent and affordable.”

“Me and my sister recently did the ultimate Alaska adventure. From start to end this was a superb experience. The entire staff is very professional, knowledgeable, experienced, and a great respect and appreciation for the wild-land. We made this reservation with Dave he was very helpful and and answered all our questions. Our guide for the week was Brett Johnson, we were a group of 10, he made everything possible to make sure our expectations were met, and at least for me and my sister they were exceeded we felt at all times VIP. He is extremely knowledgeable, experienced and professional, we felt safe at all times. We also had other guides during our trip, Spencer was our guide during a terrific hike that lasted about 6 hours. Mento, our rafting guide in the Kenai river- he is the wiki human version. Mooney, Harrison, Nick and Maya also had to mention, they gave us fabulous tours during our stay in the glacier lodge. We stayed in 3 lodges the riverside, the backcountry and glacier lodge, words cannot describe these places, you have to go yourself so you can understand what I’m trying to say. The staff if the 3 lodges is excellent, I have to give 100/10 to them- I’m not exaggerating, the food was excellent, they have different options for those with diet restrictions, allergies etc. I am very happy I went to Alaska and that I did it with this company. I am of course coming back. Thank you Dave, Brett, Mento, Mooney, Harrison, Nick, Maya and Spencer and rest of the staff for this great experience.”

Had internet, and big screen TV too, if you need that. Yes, Flush toilets and running water, Wahoo!! Quiet place to relax with family. Beds were amazing. The new owners are so nice. Had everything we needed for our home away from home stay.”

Alyeska Hostel

Address: 227 Alta Dr, Girdwood, AK 99587, USA

“We booked through Air bnb spent the night in the cabin that was in front of the property. The cabin was adorable and has everything you need! Sleeps up to 4 people, with a private bathroom and shower, and has a full kitchen with a gas stove and oven! (Heads up, no microwave.) The bed was super comfy, cabin was clean, and the person we ran into who helped run the hostel was super kind. They have shared rooms available for a lower price, but the private cabin still cost half of what we would have payed at the Alyeska Hotel! Will definitely be coming back here for a weekend on the mountain!”

The hiking paths have signage to guide you to different trails and lakes. The trail paths are well worn including the paths through the grassy fields. It is recommended to bring bug spray, sunscreen, noise maker/bear spray and stay alert while you enjoy the trails solo or with others. There is a $7 parking fee for day use and machine is located near the restrooms.”

Sportsman's Landing

“If you're looking for the easiest way to cross the Russian River then you want to stay here at the Sportsman's Landing. Not much here besides restrooms. Sportsman's Landing has parking for vehicles, RVs, and boats. There is no tent camping here and with all the bears I doubt I would want to. Sleep in your truck or the RV, it's safer. There are no electrical hookups or water, so you'll be dry camping here. There is a boat launch above the ferry area. There is no store or ATM here, so bring plenty of water, food, and cash to pay the day use fee.”

“We spent 9 days at the Drift House. 2 dads and 2 sons. The location in Coopers Landing is perfect for Kenai river floats and acces to Seward and Kenai. We used the Drift House as a home base and rented a drift boat for daily fly fishing at the end of the sockeye run. There is plenty of parking for vehicles and boats. The home is perfect with comfortable beds, full kitchen, laundry access and easy trash removal. We were able to use our accounts for Netflix and other streaming platforms after long days on the river. My son and I slept better than we did at home and every morning we were minutes from the river put in and take out. Heather and company are very easy to work with and very responsive to questions and potential needs. We will return!!! Chris Bell”

“Upon arrival we were welcomed by a handwritten note on the front door with news we had been upgraded to the pioneer room. The entire house felt so warm and cozy and was thoughtfully decorated. The room has more than what we needed and the breakfast was perfect for our go with the flow itinerary. My husband and I don’t get a lot of time like this together and Alaska’a Harvest B&B made it so special. We will definitely be back and will be recommending this stay to everyone traveling to Alaska! Palmer is an excellent location to lodge - beautiful and a middle point between so many adventures. THANK YOU!!!”
