“So, my visit didn't start off great. I aplced my order and they got it wrong. I called them back and asked if they could remake my burger. They did and got it wrong again. I called them back and they said they were busy so I asked for my money back. The manager came out then and asked what the problem was. “A resort Happy Hour with a bit of history. Happy HourZ a-z Here is a wonderful resort bar happy hour worth visiting. First of all, you can’t go wrong with just hanging out at the Scottsdale Resort. It is comfortable and relaxing. However, add to this thought of spending a nice afternoon overlooking a beautiful golf course while sipping on a nice happy hour wine, and you are in for a treat. Our favorite place is on the patio sitting around the fire pit during these fall time evenings. The food selections are very nice also. Nice presentations, nice portion size, and priced right. Add to that, appetizers are tasty to boot. As of this writing, the six Happy Hour appetizers and well cocktails are priced at $6.00 each. Wine by the glass is at $7.00. Draft beer is at $5.00. This is great pricing for a Scottsdale Resort. In addition, there is plenty of free parking or valet parking if you prefer. Here is a bit of trivia taken from a photograph on the wall outside in the hallway outside the Bar Six40. A retired Army Chaplin, Winfield Scott, purchased 640 acres of land (at $3.50 an acre) in 1888. The town was originally named Orangedale. Six years later, In 1894, the town changed its name to Scottsdale in honor of the founder, Winfield Scott. In turn, Bar Six40 commemorates those first 640 acres that were to become Scottsdale, AZ. “This small bar and grill in south Tempe was pretty good. Limited table seating and has a group high top table in the middle. There is a small patio area area on the road side. There is a bar on the other side of the building with a separate entrance and they share the kitchen. The food offerings are a mix of sushi, Korean, and regular Japanese fare. Very tasty with a lot of flavor. Seaweed salad was a little squishy. Tempura is served in the fry basket with dipping sauce. Service was very good. The only ding I’d give it is that it’s very loud. Part of that is design and part was the collection of drunk college girls on the high top that kept falling off their stools. I’m guessing they should have been cut off the booze.”

The food is delicious. I ordered the nachos and got a great deal because it was happy hour. I showed up five minutes before happy hour was over, and was still able to take advantage of happy hour prices. The shredded beef was so good, and my plate was very hot. Also, the salsa? Talk about authentic and DELICIOUS. I wasn’t sure what to drink, so my server, Cella, suggested this drink comprised of whisky, Red Bull, and tastiness. It was amazing. The music was good, service was excellent, parking was easy, and the vibes were RIGHT. I love this place after one try, and will definitely be visiting again soon.”

“We loved this spot for breakfast on a Sunday morning! Every staff member we interacted with was SO kind and helpful. Even though they were busy, we only had to wait about 5 minutes for a table. It’s bigger than it looks from the outside. The food was great! My husband loved the biscuits and gravy + country fried steak. I had the beggar’s omelette, sans mushrooms. I also upgraded to a side of pancakes for $0.99, which was worth it. My only little complaint is that my husband asked our waiter if the country fried steak came with gravy on it, and our waiter said yes. Then when it arrived, it did not have gravy, and we were charged an extra $2.99 for a side of gravy to put on top of it, which seems a bit expensive. My husband was happy with the food though, so not a huge deal. Now we know for next time. We will definitely be back!”
