“Great campsite in tall pine trees. Maybe five or six spots, I did not see any outhouse. It does sit very close to the road, for a fairly remote place was surprised amount of cars driving by...Rose Creek Campground is just down the road a bit and there were a lot of people there so might been source of the traffic. Stayed here on a Friday night. From Phoenix (Camelback and 51) was 2 hour 20 minutes drive. Gorgeous drive. The last 12 or so miles are single lane curvy mountain roads. I would not bring a trailer camper here. Campsite is clean, picnic tables cannot be moved, some the sites had rock fire pits mine did not. Zero cell service on Sprint. Definitely recommend.”

“The hosts are awesome; very welcoming and thoughtful. The park is kept clean and nice. Camp sites are spacious. There is a laundry room, an exercise room. Rec room, and bathrooms with showers, which are kept very clean and open from 8am to 8pm. The park is close enough to the highway to hear it at night, but it isn't busy and wasn't loud. There is a Mexican restaurant very close that is quite good.”

“We started out trip from Las Vegas and drove a scenic hour and fifty minutes to the campground, it's a great middle point from the grand canyon to Vegas. The room was very nice with lots of very beautiful scenery. The Manager Dave came out and gave us a rundown on our stay very nice guy. Would stay here again”

“Jessica (manager) is great. She answers the phone after hours. She even keeps some quarters in her office if you need to buy some for the laundry. I've lived at VIP just a few months, but love it so far.”

“My family and I always enjoy the hiking here at Skyline Park. We have only done easy to moderate hiking and only on foot. There are trails available for horses and more trails that are longer and harder than I’ve done. The views are stunning and we really enjoy the early morning hiking. We were lucky to get to see the cactus in bloom our last time there. There is parking for free and no admission into the park there are also bathrooms it is very nice and accommodating.”

“Interesting remote RV park on what appears to be a former mining area? Daily, weekly, monthly and yearly spots. Some are full hookups, some are dry camping. Community center, trash dumpsters, washroom showers, central fresh water spigots for the dry campers. Seems to be an interesting community of folks that return year after year. Staff was very friendly even to those that showed up without a reservation or prior notice. They found us a spot for a couple nites per our needs. Cell signal is poor for TMobile and Verizon, slightly better with ATT. RV area is rolling ridges and steep sections, this is not a flat RV park. The access road from paved hwy was 7.9 miles of washboard sandy dusty dirt so be warned.”

“Could this area be from a foreign planet? This camp spot has NO amenities. The sign on the way in reads ‘no dumping’. The road into the campground is narrow. Big rigs should grab one of the first spots. The further back the spots get smaller. Great sunsets. Low light pollution yields great star views. Several types of cacti here. Like a dense forest. The cholla are the ones to steer clear of. Nasty hooked spines! This is BLM land. As such, there is an active target practice range to the West. If that puts you on edge, best to go elsewhere.”

“I was there for a night shooting stars but ran into a cloudy + thunder storm night. Definitely be back. My 2nd review. Spend a night by the boat ramp for Milky Way shoot. Perfect !! Despite a "little" light pollution from Mesa-Phoenix and Globe, the sky is clear and I got a few shots. Highly recommended for fellow astrophotographers.”

“It was basically a ghost town in June. They had 2 playgrounds, clean showers with warm water and lockable doors. Bathrooms were tidy and stocked, grounds were gorgeous. There’s water spigots around the sites. Tent sites had plenty of vegetation, a fire ring, picnic table, and canopy. We had a fabulous time.”

“It was a good place to overnight, I was here for two days, I was here an extra day because I had an issue with my truck I was quickly able to fix. The only reason for 4 stars is because the second night it filled up, a couple of the campers were a little on the loud side, one parked next to me in a strange angle and there generator noise was going right into my RV bedroom , if they had parked like everyone else the exhaust of said generator would not have been pointed at us. This may have been an isolated incident? We are on our way home after wintering in Quartzite with the tens of thousands of boon docking going on there we never had that problem? That's just my experience probably not typical.”

“We were unable to get a spot earlier last week - April (it's very popular, especially with birders) but the ranger told us to try Monday or Tuesday after noon and we were able to choose from 3 open spaces, though only one would have been available for an RV. People in RVs will happily stay for the 14 day maximum, though you can go down the road to the much more remote Proctor campground and wait for a space to open up. Proctor offers dispersed camping, far from the neighbors, but it's lower elevation and in shrubs instead of trees. At Bog Springs, we noticed that the RV next to the toilet relocated to another spot when we were packing up, so it's not hard to get an ideal space if you have time and patience. We only stayed one night and had a great site in the back (sites 9 &10 by the Dutch John Spring trail are tents only). Each site has 1 or 2 picnic tables, fire pits, access to potable water (wonderful!) and ample trees to shade you or to hang a hammock. The campers across the street were camping in the hammocks. As it's getting hot in April in Arizona, it's lovely to be at this camp site that is in the low 80s during the day when it's 90s in Tucson. It dropped to the mid 40s at night, which was perfect sleeping bag weather. In the morning, we were visited by turkeys and deer strolling through.”

“This resort is great! We stayed in site one. The site has gravel and level. Laundry room just got new machines and they work great! The showers are clean but only 3 of them (one each for men and women and family) Pool and hot tub were always clean and tended too. The staff and community are all wonderful! Highly recommended staying here. The price is excellent!”

“If you are visiting Arizona this is a must stop!! This is my first time back to Colossal Cave since I was kid. The whole family took the Ladder Tour and our Tour Guide Everett was the best!!! The drive down was beautiful. It was very easy to find and had plenty of free parking. The nature trail was short and sweet and it had a gorgeous view. I highly recommend the Ladder Tour for children 12 and up. Everett made the tour so fun and had so much patience for our kids “million questions”. We learned so much and left feeling excited for our next trip back. Thank you Everett and the gift shop attendants for your kindness and help.”

“Beautiful and conveniently located campground that is close to Grand Canyon West, Hoover Dam, Lake Meade, and just a few hours from Vegas. Highly recommend if you are looking to visit these attractions or get away from the city lights. Mike was great, knowledgeable about the area, and hospitable. I enjoyed my time here and would not hesitate to stay again when in the area.”

“Rose Canyon Campground is a lovely getaway into the cool forest. Lovely vegetation and some interesting critters can be found here. Great for a night or two away from the city. It is quite popular so if you're plan to reserve a spot for the weekend do so at least a month in advance. First come first serve spots fill up fast on the weekend too. Due to it's popularity it might be hard to get away from all of humanity, tho most fellow campers are respectful. The facilities are limited (pit toilets and drinking water spigots) but clean and well maintained. The staff here is respectful and courteous. Great spot to camp.”

“Got there Wednesday afternoon just after pretty much everyone else had left. Quiet and clean. Highly recommend visiting Tortilla Flats down the road. Rented a boat for a half day from the marina, went great, there was hardly anyone in the lake which was small but beautiful.”

“The best thing about my stay at Spencer Canyon Campground was the camp hosts, Mark and his wife. They kept the place very clean and were always friendly. Having clean smelling bathrooms was a great surprise while camping. As others have said, some of the sites are very close together but some allow for more space. The views from the higher number sites, 45+ are amazing as you overlook Tucson. From most of the sites it is a little walk to get to where you can park but a few are closer. I had a relaxing and restful stay.”

“Took the family out in March '22 to SB Cove and had a great time in our little pop-up camper. We got lucky and was able to grab a spot right on the water front. Bring a shovel to help level your campers. You don't need a 4x4 to get to this area and we saw some smaller cars as well. There was a little bit of wind but nothing outrages. We saw a few people catch a lot of fish! Just make sure you buy your Tonto pass before you head out here just in case the kiosk doesn't work and to save a couple of bucks. The 2 bathrooms here were really clean and had absolutely no smell when we used it. You can access the restrooms by hiking back up away from the water.”

“Big Beautiful campground that’s no longer maintained. Grass over grown weeds high and more. If you go during monsoon season you’ll be lucky to find the water flowing down the rocks onto the road. Nice place to make a few s’mores or cook a few hot dogs on one of the many grills. Just beware that the weeds are a lil high and grass to your ankles so go prepared. Overall it’s a good place to get in touch with nature while getting away from the city.”

“We were heading back to Vegas from the Grand Canyon and decided to see if we could find accommodations at Lake Mead. We came across Temple Bar. We could not have been more satisfied with this place. The rooms were neat and clean. The restaurant was great and the food was fantastic. The taco salad was the best meal we had all week. The property was immaculate and very well cared for. It was clear that the owners and staff take pride in their business. This place has it all. Nice Job”

“Had a great time camping and fishing here, had to do a little cleaning up but for the most part there are some nice camp sites here. It a little out of the way the road is a little bumpy but that keeps a lot of people out. The water here is a lot warmer than below Bartlett lake.”
