Mescal Movie Set

Address: 1538 N Mescal Rd, Benson, AZ 85602, USA

Museum

“Finally we were able to check it out. I am not a Western movie buff but my husband is and this was a treat... Even for me. Ten dollars for an informed tour per person (you can't wonder due to safety during restoration) and five more for the stage coach ride was well worth the time spent. The people there are knowledgeable, friendly and just fun to be around! I will recommend this to anyone who asks for sites to see and can't wait to see this place come to life. There is a lot of work, however the people are focused on the end goal and they should be recognized!”

“Interesting artifacts from the area are uniquely displayed and serve as the backdrop for a host of fascinating stories shared by the enthusiastic staff of mostly volunteers! Ask about the saddle that belonged to the first Sheriff of Maricopa County or the photo of the bank robbed twice by Pancho Villa. These are just a couple of cool examples of the snapshots in time that are here to experience in this little building packed full of history. It's definitely worth the stop! Thanks to all of the contributors and staff!”

Biosphere 2

Address: 32540 S Biosphere Rd, Oracle, AZ 85739, USA

“Fascinating concept... the facility itself seems to be only minimally maintained, which in itself, must be a great undertaking. Some of the flora seem to be in need of trimming, while others are very well cared for. Windows need cleaning; understandably though, there are very many of them and the task would be immense. The "dead" sea could be turned into something alive perhaps. And, hopefully, live guides will be reinstated to offer a more personal experience. All in all, a very interesting experiment.”

“This place is amazing and a must-see during the holiday season. The owner has put countless hours and a lot of apparent love into this passion. It is free of charge (although I strongly suggest donating, as this is an amazing experience). There are a lot of really neat and it seemed like rare items throughout the tour. There is also a neat little gift shop in the middle of the tour. My family and I have gone here for the past 5 years and have never been disappointed.”

This was a retrospective of a lot of his work you have probably seen in Arizona Highways or other publications, many printed in very large formats suitable to be a great focal point in any room. We also enjoyed the rest of the exhibits. Great experience. Easy to find on the southwest corner of Elliot and Gilbert roads. Enter from Elliot Road.”

Or see what it was like to go to a school house in that time period. The dress shop the blacksmith all those things were just a part of the charm of this Sun loving place.
