Really pretty place but due to covid, we couldnt stay for long. However i'd like to go again after the pandemic for the sights.
I love the Claremont Colleges campus system. My wife and I often target a weekend afternoon to just stroll and enjoy the whole area, from the residential streets to the quads. And our dog loves it, too.
Also, with a range of wonderful food options right next door at Claremont Village, it's easy to set up a takeout picnic date night.
This is a huge complex of several colleges in Claremont. I have visited the place during the time of the graduation and the city was full of parents, guests and visitors. If your child is studying here you should make the reservation for the graduation in advance anyway it could be difficult to catch a good accomodation and reservation in a good restaurant for the celebration. I was invited into the Planetarium and hade a very good guided tour hete by the planetarium director. Interesting place.
As an Alumnus of Pitzer College (one of the Claremont Colleges), I loved my experience as a student! The concept that the Claremont Colleges are populated by many students who were denied entry to the Ivy League schools is false, however. For example, I was accepted at Yale and Harvard, but I chose Pitzer instead. Many people that I knew not only at Pitzer but also at Pomona College chose Claremont rather than the Ivies.
Only the best educational environment West of the atlantic and East of the Pacific!
Thousands of students who "failed" to get into every over-rated, one-personality allowed college from Harvard to Wellesley have gotten on their knees in thankfulness for that failure before the end of their Sophomore year!
