They are always so friendly and helpful in-person and over the phone. Like a great neighbor, State Farm is there,….and they are always there. When I was involved in a car accident they answered my call and simplified the procedures to make a claim. I was paid out quickly and felt like they were by my side. “Amazing place to buy dried chinese herbs and imported snacks and foods. I started coming here as a kid with my mom, and now they’ve expanded to a fresh veggie section. You can do a Chinese medicine consultation (TCM) or acupuncture in the herb section in the back of the store. They also have lots of grains that are used by western people, such as quinoa, oats, barely, millet, sesame, packaged unsalted nuts, etc. Great prices compared to the big fancy markets.”

“I've waited 3+ years for Vicky to come back. She was the former owner and hairstylist of Hair Matters 3 years ago before she sold it due to familial priorities. FYI - if you are wondering why Hair Matters's old reviews are top notch (if they are still there). Let's get to the point. I'm a vain person and have paid across the spectrum of price points for a good, thorough haircut. I've been to salons that charged me $45+ to $12 cuts in the SGV & West LA for many years until I met Vicky back in 2010 when she owned Hair Matters. I went to her until 2012-ish before she sold her old business. I've moved to San Jose and am still making an effort to see her monthly in LA because her haircuts are the best. I trust her and occasionally have told her to do whatever she wants to do with my hair. She just opened this shop in December 2015 and I'm excited that she is back. It's $20, but the attention to detail is BEYOND worth it and I hate it when I would go home and see uneven hairs or stray hairs sticking out (after pulling my ears forward) after a hair cut, which has occurred to me before. I actually think she should charge more for the time, effort, input, and skill she puts into my haircuts, but I'm not complaining about the price. In addition to the detail and precision of her cuts, she takes her time and communicates with you to ensure that you get the haircut you actually want. She is totally honest if the cut is do-able or not because different hair types can yield certain results. She always make an effort to be creative if their are discrepancies between your hair type and the cut you want by making it work for you. More importantly, she tries to make the haircut last and cuts it in a way that looks good after having it grown out. She takes that into account and doesn't give haircuts that look good until you go home and wash it. Quality, Precision, Honest Input, Approachable Demeanor and SKILLS = Vicky!”
