Savannah Cemetery

Address: 9263 Valley Blvd, Rosemead, CA 91770, USA

Cemetery

“The history of this cemetery is astounding. I sometimes forget that we do actually have historical sites like this in Southern California. I would highly recommend spending an hour here walking around to read the plaques erected by the historical center - what a great work they did! We learned so much about the history of this area and had a lot of laughs thinking about days gone by. This cemetery is also quiet and secluded. It’s definitely not well kept, which makes sense given the average age of most of these graves. I’d advise wearing sneakers or good walking shoes that can handle piles of leaves and such. Also, we were pretty sure that the “operating hours” aren’t actually a thing that are enforced, because there was no one there the whole time we were there, and when we left at “closing time”, the only thing they likely would have done to lock up would be closing a gate latch. So… I feel like it’s a little flexible. However, I still wouldn’t stay after dark!”

Potrero Heights Park

Address: 8051 Arroyo Dr, Rosemead, CA 91770, USA

Cemetery

“The park is separated and hidden behind a fence bordering a senior center. Parking is very limited since it is mainly taken by seniors who are enjoying the services at the center. Overall, a nice quiet and very small park. If you want to throw a party make sure to stake your claim early.”

Resurrection Cemetery

Address: 966 Potrero Grande Dr, Rosemead, CA 91770, USA

Cemetery

“Well maintained Catholic cemetery where many of my passed loved ones are buried. On the weekends, especially closer to holidays, it is absolute madness there.. plan to be there a while since the roads are switched to one way paths and most of the parking is taken. So you either can go in several circles trying to get a parking by your loved ones plot, or just walk extra to it. Also, besides cutting the grass, the cemetery does not maintain the plots and headstones for you..so ive seen some headstones partially visible because of grass and dirt over taking it. And your flower vases will be buried under grass and can get lodged into the flower well. So just keep those things in mind when visiting. Gloves and gardening tools keep your loved ones spots looking bright and nice.”
