“The history of this cemetery is astounding. I sometimes forget that we do actually have historical sites like this in Southern California. I would highly recommend spending an hour here walking around to read the plaques erected by the historical center - what a great work they did! We learned so much about the history of this area and had a lot of laughs thinking about days gone by. This cemetery is also quiet and secluded. It’s definitely not well kept, which makes sense given the average age of most of these graves. I’d advise wearing sneakers or good walking shoes that can handle piles of leaves and such. Also, we were pretty sure that the “operating hours” aren’t actually a thing that are enforced, because there was no one there the whole time we were there, and when we left at “closing time”, the only thing they likely would have done to lock up would be closing a gate latch. So… I feel like it’s a little flexible. However, I still wouldn’t stay after dark!”

“Loved walking around this cemetery. I had some pictures taken of me with my phone. There are a lot of cool tomb stones. It is very peaceful to walk. The lighting at golden hour was beautiful. Made me feel very pretty ☀️”

“My mom passed away six years ago and I felt overwelmed and numb all at the same time. Veronica, who worked there at the time was very kind and patient with me and my sister. We live in Long Beach and was not sure if the location was too far away. But to our surprise it was not very far at all. It's very peaceful, and I love seeing the Mariachi Bands singing to their family members whom have passed away. My only criticism six years ago was that the painting on the Nitch wall was very old and peeling, and the name plates were crooked. But when I brought it to Veronica's attention it was all fixed within a few weeks. Now as of three years ago my nephew is resting peacefully there as well. R.I.P Mama ❤️ and Christopher 💙”

“The grief and shock one feels days following losing a love one unexpectedly is intense. I walked into the office of Desert Lawn Memorial Park and was greeted by Brenda. As she walked us through the process I kept thinking, "This woman has been placed here by God." The peace and love felt lightened the heartache from an emotionally heavy situation. I found out later, she indeed was placed there by God. This is not just a job for Brenda, it's a call to love people through arguably one of the worst moments in their lives. The place is beautiful and we are grateful to have our love ones nearby. In addition, they are the cheapest in the valley$”

“Called Sue knowing I was asking for a miracle. We were looking for a burial plot for my father, in one of the oldest parts of Valhalla cemetery. We were told it was impossible to get. My father had purchased two plots in the 80s for my mom and himself, but unfortunately had a disabled brother and sister die before him and gave them the plots so they can rest next to his mom and dad. When our father was given 6 months to live, we did everything in our power to get him as close to his parents and brother and sister. That fateful day we called Sue. A friend referred a company who then referred Sue. She informed us that she did have a plot in that area. She got it the other week, and hadn’t had any plots there in 15 years. She also told us the people that gave her the plot were informed that it could take 5-10 years to sell the plot, since no one gets buried there anymore. We met Sue to see the plot. My father was bed ridden but we were able to FaceTime him in. The plot Sue had was 13 spaces from his brother and sister and 1 below his mom and dad. I FaceTimed my dad and we both cried. It was meant to be. My dad’s lucky number was 13 and he died on the 13. He also cared for his disabled brother and sister so to be able to be the connecting piece at the grave site made this extra special. I understand, having an experience like ours may be impossible. But maybe it is possible. I’m a logistical note, Sue was able to guide us through the process of working with the cemetery to make sure the transfer of the plot went smoothly. And believe me, the cemetery ddI everything I. It’s power to not make it go smoothly. Thank you Sue! We are forever grateful!”

“Annette was very helpful and accommodating. We came in without an appointment for a notarization, when she clearly had other things going on, and she made the time to help us. This led to another opportunity where we needed several livescans done for our company and she came to our office. Thank you again.”

“My mother was 97 years old when she first went to this facility. She lived there 1 year and 1 week. I can't say enough good things about the loving and caring staff there! They truly care about the residents and make every effort to make sure that their every need is met. The meals are delicious and homemade. The facility is super clean and there are never foul odors of any kind. While my mother was there my father and I visited her every single day. Not for 20 or 30 minutes but for 3-5 hours at a time. We were always treated as family and made to feel welcome. Frequently we ate supper with mom and the other residents. I know first hand what a wonderful, wonderful establishment this is. I highly recommend it.”

“Went here today 4/16/2023 girl working the window was awful and rude. Asked me if I wanted hot sauce, I told her yes. She "tossed/threw" my bags of food into my window and didn't even give me hot sauce. Shut the window in my face and didn't open it back up. I was left to walk back inside to get what I needed. I live out of state and was just driving through on the way home. Definitely wouldn't go back wether I lived in the area or not. Food was good but service definitely NEEDS REVAMPED!!!!”

“Heather and the staff at Furrever Friends are incredibly kind and thoughtful during the hardest moments for every pet owner. When our family lost our dog Rico (who had been part of our lives for almost 20 years), Heather kept her office open longer that evening so that we had all the time we needed to say goodbye. She also allowed us to come in on a weekend to pick up Rico's ashes due to our family schedule. And Adriana even hand delivered us Rico's blanket to our home. Their caring nature helped us find strength during that sad time. We also treasure the heart tags and paw prints they give to each pet owner. We also ordered several Christmas ornaments to always remember Rico with. Thank you Furrever Friends!”

“Pierce Brothers Valhalla met all of our needs with compassion, concern, and timeliness. I lost my father right before Christmas, and my stepmother months before that. Due to my father’s health, we were not able to have a funeral for my stepmother. When Dad passed, we decided to conduct a dual service. The staff made sure that we were not overwhelmed with planning during the holiday. Nancy, our funeral director, went above and beyond to make my parents celebration of life very special. She provided insight, made my ideas a reality, and was there for me every step of the way. We could not have gotten though it all without her. Her help allowed us to celebrate a bittersweet first Christmas without my parents. In addition, in the final week before the service she was able to make the changes I requested. The end result was a celebration of life that was beautiful and absolutely what my parents would have wanted. I highly recommend Pierce Brothers Valhalla. They will take care of you.”

“Only thing that's changed in the 20+ years of going here has been the price. A place thats this good at what they do doesn't need to change anything. I would give it a 5 star but its not a 5 star place and that's actually a good thing in this case. The food is the perfect amount of good and its quick and easy. Go here its a solid lunch spot.”
