“It's a perfect getaway place. Close enough to the beach that you can walk if you like. One of my favorite places to eat Marshals Shack for awesome oysters and baked Brea cheese. The cottage its self, the queen bed bed very cozy, there are double size bunk beds, and a bunk house with more beds. It's great for single use or family. It's a rustic little cabin that is very well maintained. I will be back to stay here again.”

“Beautiful drive in, delicious food (small menu but something for everyone), kid friendly... the view is unbeatable and it is our new favorite spot to bring visiting friends and family. Recently redone in great taste!”

“I can't believe I'm giving 5 stars to a campground in the middle of a cow pasture! Nevertheless, this is a fantastic place to camp with a group. Once you het past the cow patties, you realize you're just hundreds of feet from the Pacific and its glory. The wide beach is perfect for jogging or exploring, and is accessed through the grassy sand dunes, so rare on the west coast. On the other side of the pasture is a huge, looming sand mountain. It's incredible to climb to the top and roll or run down. Bring snowboards and sleds for a thrill. Be prepared for the likelihood of chilly winds, no matter the inland weather. Overall, a wonderful family getaway.”

“Love it! Beautifully decorated. Perfect location for anything in Bodega especially crabbing at Lawsons Landing. Fran is a great hostess and the owners are super friendly and really easy to communicate with. Been coming for years and we are looking forward to our next trip! Stay once and you will be hooked!!”

“We stayed at the Cottage for two wonderful nights. The Cottage was clean, loved how it was decorated and the bed was comfortable. The actual is even better than the web pictures. Our breakfasts were fabulous, Jan and Lou were gracious and went out of their way to help us (my husband is in a wheelchair). We are now converts to Jan and Lou’s hard Apple cider!”

“This venue was the perfect place for the wedding of our dreams. The property is drowning in rustic charm and we were very lucky to start our lives together here. We invited almost everyone we knew they all really enjoyed the wedding on the lawn and the party in the barn.”

“It's very spendy, but, it's always been good. You can't go wrong going here while on a drive up the coast. But - I go there just to take a drive along the coast. You just have to have your priorities set right .. today food first, then drive .. maybe tomorrow ? Drive first then food. I like getting a seat by the window .. watch the bay go by.”

“We were married at Straus Ranch and it was wonderful. The location, facilities, and hosts (Vivien and Michael) made our day extra special. The house is very well-maintained and comfortable. The event space (lawn and shed) were also in great condition and easy-to-use. It was a pleasure working with Vivien and Michael, and their friendliness made our day less stressful. We hope to return often and it is the perfect place for a family gathering.”

“My husband and I had an amazing time at this B&B. The B&B was incredibly welcoming, peaceful, and relaxing. It was like no other place we'd ever been. The innkeepers took great care of us -- providing an incredible breakfast each morning and in the evenings they were gracious enough to provide cheese and wine. They were both so kind and generous with their advice on things to see and do in the area. The BEST B&B experience we've ever stayed in -- what a place! We'll be back for sure.”

“Truly a special, remote location that isn’t too far from the city. We rented the entire bunkhouse, but food and non-water drinks were not allowed anywhere in the bunkhouse. This made enjoying the bunkhouse’s common area kind of limited. At $39/bunk bed, with 20 beds in the bunkhouse, it was a rather expensive house! Especially when we couldn’t eat and drink there, and we had to take out our trash, do some light cleaning, and replace our bedding before we left. Still, the hostel is a nice local getaway, and I recommend everyone visit at least once/one night. There is no cell phone reception or WiFi.”
