Tower 25

Address: Carlsbad, CA 92011, USA

Park

“Cool spot to go watch surfers or just chill on the beach. Not many people at this spot unlike tower 21 and 22 so if you’re looking to not really swim this could be the place. It’s pretty cold in winter months so being a wetsuit if you’re planning on going in. The tide can rise pretty high pretty fast as well so be aware.”

Lake Calavera Trail Head - Cannon Road

Eucalyptus Grove Trail

North Ponto Beach

Address: 6039-6325 Carlsbad Blvd, Carlsbad, CA 92008, USA

Park

“I love this beach!!! Let's all try to keep it clean and be thankful for what this planet has given us. A good place to remind yourself of the world we live in and take a good rest from whatever you were doing. It's peaceful and not crowded like other beaches. The smell of the ocean is great and the rocks are nice. Love the mini cliffs. Just be careful when you go in reverse to get back to the main road. Have a good one fellow human!”

Calavera Hills Community Park

Address: 2997 Glasgow Dr, Carlsbad, CA 92010, USA

Park

“It's a very well maintained park, with a community center, a gym and large parking lot. There are tennis and basketball courts, baseball field and picknic tables which can be reserved. They are very popular for any kinds of celebrations. In the summer, there are free rock or jazz concerts on Fridays. Great neighborhood park! This park has basketball courts, tennis courts, baseball fields, children play area and more! Enjoy the afternoon watching the kids play!”

Lake Calavera Hiking Trail

Address: Tamarack Ave, Carlsbad, CA 92010, USA

Park

“Excellent trails and so close! I love exploring the area and it's dog friendly. It's not an off leash park but that's understandable with all the bikes and joggers. I don't have an issue with off leash dogs but the owners really need to be able to control their dogs. I've noticed that the people who are the nicest have the best control and the rude ones have very little control.”

Lake Calavera Dam

Address: Carlsbad, CA 92010, USA

Park

“Awesome spot that links to a ton of the trails and preserve spots. Great view of the lake as well and since they’ve cleared a lot of the vegetation it’s a lot more accessible now. They also finally put in a bathroom and water fountain which is great.”

Lake Calavera Trail Head #2

Address: Tamarack Ave, Carlsbad, CA 92010, USA

“Love the different trails you can take. From nice and flat to more of a hiking trail. Our dog loves going out here. Make sure to bring water during the summer as it does get hot.”

Lake Calavera Trail Head

Address: Tamarack Ave, Carlsbad, CA 92010, USA

Park

“You can get lost a little bit but it's a nice trail with a gorgeous view the whole walk of a beautiful lake. I live about 20 minutes away and my wife and I come here often because it's worth it, we enjoy it very much.”

Calavera Nature Preserve

Address: 4028 Peninsula Dr, Carlsbad, CA 92010, USA

Park

“Nice use if open spaces. Hard to give Nature less than 4 stars but honestly 3.5 stars because the trails do need some maintenance in some areas and better trail markers throughout. Nice elevation changes gives you some exercise so not an easy walk but nothing determination can't easily handle. Not too much shade if any especially mid day so be prepared.”

Hidden Valley Trail Aviara East Access

Address: Aviara Pkwy, Carlsbad, CA 92011, USA

Park

Poinsettia Park

Address: 6600 Hidden Valley Rd, Carlsbad, CA 92011, USA

Park

“Beautiful park with so much to offer. Two huge softball fields that are big enough for hard ball, tennis courts, a couple of basketball courts (pickup games on some nights during the week) and a huge soccer field with artificial turf. Picnic areas and playgrounds as well. Left it at four stars because no dogs are allowed. I think Carlsbad is the only city where dogs are allowed in restaurants but not in parks. So if you don't like dogs, bump this up to 5 stars. However, I do see dogs there, and I've never seen it being enforced.”

Tower 28

Address: Carlsbad, CA 92008, USA

Park

“A great spot now that the construction has been completed”

Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation

Address: 1580 Cannon Rd, Carlsbad, CA 92008, USA

Park

“Such and wonderful place. My son had a blast on his field trip here, he loved all the educational rotations and all the staff was very helpful, outgoing, and did a great job answering all the kids questions and taught them all new things. He also loved all the hands on learning and being able to see and touch all the new animals. Lastly they have an awesome coffee machine.”

Hidden Canyon Community Park

Address: 2685 Vancouver St, Carlsbad, CA 92010, USA

“Diamond in the rough. Well, not really the rough. This is a great park for the family in a nice community.”

Ann D. L'Heureux Memorial Dog Park

Address: Carlsbad Village Dr, Carlsbad, CA 92008, USA

Park

“It's a nice little park for my dog to play with other dogs and run. Some humans are snooty but that's like any dog park and I don't pay any attention to them. I don't mind the rough housing and horse play (dogs will be dogs), but one of the dogs likes to bully my dog for some reason and the snooty human never does anything, so I finally stepped in one day and told that dog to eff off! (Bully dog isn't shown in the pics).”

Laguna Riviera City Park

Address: Kelly Dr, Carlsbad, CA 92008, USA

Park

“I loved it. I can see the ocean from the basketball court. Walk three minutes and I am standing on the beach. Well kept very clean courts with glass back boards at the right height 10FT and manicured Lawn to play soccer or touch football Awesome park. Plenty of places rest in the shade and there is a bathroom available”

Cannon Park

Address: Carlsbad, CA 92008, USA

Park

Agua Hedionda Lagoon Garfield Street Trailhead

Address: Carlsbad, CA 92008, USA

Park

“This is a great hiking area, you can also fish here. When the tide is coming in or the tide is going out there are halibut under the bridge. It is pretty Rocky and the pads can be steep so we're comfortable but sturdy shoes. This is a good place to take photographs, and you can even operate your drone here and get some magnificent footage. You can see the lighthouse and watch the traffic on the highway from above the Lagoon on the hill. You can also catch a beautiful sunset from here.”

Tower 30

Address: 4653 Carlsbad Blvd, Carlsbad, CA 92008, USA

Park

“If you’re in the kayak fishing, launching out of the surf here really produces. Best time to launch is low tide when the surf is small. My buddy and I headed out to the kelp beds and got bass, Halibut , and barracuda”
