“Great place to come while in San Diego to see the views from Point Loma down into the city itself. Tons of great history and informational displays in the keepers home and lighthouse areas. Definitely a popular place for sightseers to visit. I recommend riding a bike up to this area if you can avoid driving. Overall, fantastic experience and recommended to everyone.”

“Fantastic place to visit while in San Diego if you’re looking for a sightseeing destination. The park ranger staff are super helpful and great at explaining the history of this area and guiding you through the museum portion of the visitor’s center. I highly recommend visiting Cabrillo National Monument Visitor’s Center and the surrounding areas to anyone that is passing through the San Diego area or visiting.”

“Super cool experience! MUST see if you haven't participated in the military or would like to show the appreciation to the park. Very insightful as to how these men and women live and work a board this naval warship. It is truly awe inspiring and motivational to see such amazing equipment from many generations of airplanes and helicopters on the flight deck up close and personal. This was the most amazing thing I did while in San Diego and the staff all very knowledgeable and helpful was a true delight to meet the men and women that served on this icon. Truly amazing I can NOT say this enough A++++++++ for $23.00 a true deal to spend a afternoon.”

“Being on the Midway is fantastic, but coming over here gives you a fantastic view of the Midway. It’s a gorgeous view of the bay as well, and generally very calm. I wouldn’t make a trip down just to visit here, but if you’re in the area I’d recommend it.”

“The facilities are amazing here and the park itself is beautiful. They will occasionally have food truck events that have amazing eating options. There are lots of things to do and see for free here such as the botanical garden and a few museums.”

“We always enjoy visiting the Houses of Hospitality in Balboa Park. It's always great to see the local people out celebrating their heritage. House of England was having a spring celebration on the Sunday we visited, complete with a Beatles cover band, people dressed in period costumes, and tasty sausage rolls from the Shakespeare restaurant. Very lively. I believe you can check the park website for a schedule of events for Houses of Hospitality.”

“Great way to spend some time if you are strolling through Balboa park. The vehicles on display Very well organized. They also have different displays that you can interact with but most cars are off limits to touch. (of course) if you have any interest in cars or even turn your head at a nice car you while driving give this museum a try. There is some serious eye candy to droll over.”

“Great use of limited space. Awesome mock-ups and models throughout the museum. Takes you on a great journey of the history of flight and aviation... mostly military with some civil aviation history. We were also lucky enough to visit during a STEM engagement week and the kids really enjoyed it. Staff was friendly, educated, and very helpful.”

“I've been to a few events at the building that will become the Comic Con museum and I had a blast each time. The staff were extremely kind and helpful. They are just now starting to design what will be the future building and from some of the things the crew has done before, it's going to be spectacular! Lots of hands on and fun things to see and do. They are really interested in what the fans would like to see. Follow them on social media like Twitter and Instagram. You can even become a member and get different perks now.”

“The dedication and hard work of the veterans working at the museum in Balboa Park shows itself everywhere. Veteran volunteers give their hearts and souls to remind us the reason why our country is so great and to help us never forget the price we continue to pay for our freedom. A definite must visit with the kids.”

“Excellent meal for a fair price. Mother, father, and I were there in time for Happy Hour between 3 and 6 and decided to just do 5 appetizers for our meal! Each of them was delicious! Father and I’s favorite was the chowder fries while mother’s was the pretzel bites! After we decided to get desert, I loved my New York Cheesecake. The waitress was fantastic and was very fun and friendly. After we finished we toured the museum which was absolutely delightful!”

Address: Flower Fields Way, Carlsbad, CA 92010, USA
“It was beautiful when we went, unfortunately we went "too early" so most of the fields were not blooming yet and a lot of construction and planting going on so the views of a few fields were amazing but we did not get the full experience and were told to come more at the end of april and may for all of the blooms. I feel a little taken as we were still charged full price for entrance and the tractor ride even tho they knew we were not getting all the flower fields had to offer yet and no one was there when we went with our little ones. It was a colder day so thought after the fact that we could have been offered a discount, at least for our 3 year old. It is very pricey for what we saw. If you are going to go, Im sure it is probably worth the money to go towards the later dates. I am not sure we will spend the money to test that theory tho. It is cool to see in person, and the views of the ocean are incredible from it, but like other reviewers stated, you can see overview of fields and ocean better from the street adjacent to it. My toddler loved the tractor ride tho and we love being outside so still have to say I like it.”

“My kids enjoyed our field trip here! This is the second time we've gone, and they accept donations which makes this a relatively inexpensive field trip, which is nice. The couple who runs the field trips is kind, although the woman seemed rather forgetful and would sometimes repeat stuff. Parts of it were really boring for kids, and I feel like they could give less information with more interactive games or conversations. But the time in the train area was wonderful and the kids loved being able to do the trains themselves. They were so patient to make sure each child got a turn. They did this early into the field trip, which was good, as last time the kids didn't care by the time they got to the trains, when the order was reversed. The kids also liked playing musical chairs and loved being given ice cream! Clean, beautiful, wonderful look into history and so close to the mission, to also check out. Overall, for what we paid, it was much more than worth it. Are very thankful.”
