“This is a small gem of a library, tucked away from the through travel routes so that it takes a bit of a detour to visit if you're not a local. Architecturally it's pretty much your standard-issue small rural public library, but when you realize that this 2500 square-foot building replaced a former library about the size of Thoreau's cabin after the community pulled together to help fund it in the 1980s-90s, it becomes more impressive. (The old building was moved to the new library site from its original location and now serves to house the weekly Friends of the Library book sales.) There's a ramada surrounded by a native-plant garden with great views of the Cuyamaca Mountains, there's free wi-fi if you need it, and judging from how busy it was the last time I stayed in Descanso, it's doing a good job of serving its consituents.”

“This is a classic mid century desert motel. It is cinder block construction with a shed roof. It is covered in solar panels. The interior walls are white painted cinder blocks but there are newer, colorful southwestern style art, bedspreads, curtains etc. There is a small kitchen with 2 electric elements, microwave, fridge, sink, cooking and serving utensils, plates etc. Cooked 3 simple meals, turned out well. There's a back door off kitchen that opens to a clear area bordered by a hedge. Has a table and chairs for outdoor dining and there is a bbq available. Has a very clean and well maintained pool and spa. Area has amazing sunsets. If you like old architecture, comfort and quiet plus a kitchen, this is it, we loved it.”

“Siren Floral Shop designed the centerpieces for my son's rehearsal dinner at Herb and Wood Restaurant in Little Italy, San Diego. I sent pictures of the venue and Pinterest pictures that the bride had saved. The centerpieces were perfect, unique and beautiful. The delivery was seamless even with a surprise rain storm and traffic. It is always nice when people over-meet your expectations and the staff at Siren Floral did!”

“We chose Kathy's Flowers for our wedding event in Valley Center. It was important for us to shop local and we saw the beautiful arrangements in the shop and knew she had the artistic touch to make our wedding beautiful. We shared photo examples of what we wanted and Erika overdelivered. We were blown away by the detailed work and expertise that went into details. Just BEAUTIFUL! Erika and her crew arrived on time and made quick work of setting up and perfecting the arrangements in place. They brought extra eucalyptus and added details that I had missed. It was amazing! We are so thankful and our guests with upcoming events asked for our florists company so they could use Kathy's Flowers too. Highly recommended!”

“Just spent one night there to test out. Only 3 sites being used including mine. Seemed fairly quiet except the one family (mom, dad, kid and dog) who seemed louder than the other site that had several people (about 7 or 8 people). Gave it a 4 star instead of 5 because I wish there was a ranger to keep the dog family in check since their dog wasn't on a leash. It didn't full blown attack, but as I walked by their site, I had my hand on my knife and had to stop for the owner to come and get it.”

“Like many have said, the location makes Riviera Inn perfect. It is not fancy but maintained. We stayed on the second floor and if it is a hot spell, you might want to b on the bottom floor. There are not many luxury features. We were there to explore and enjoy the beaches. The Inn serves full time residents also and has quiet hours starting at 8pm. We enjoyed chatting with the local residents at the pool and got some good tips.”

“Not to be missed!!! Eat at Moe's! Found this place on Yelp to go grab some pizzas for dinner for our family reunion. Moe and his bro are very friendly and pizza place was simple and clean. Everything is prepared in house and fresh so expect a little bit of a wait for your order. Service was as expected. Remember this is Moe's GIANT Pizzas. You do yourself a disservice ordering small pizzas, you want the GIANT pizzas sizes because they are that good! I pretty much scarfed down the 12 inch Italian pizza (my favorite of all) and didn't want to share slices with family for the Italian lol. Delicious crust and flavor. Thanks Moe's Giant Pizzas for making great pizzas. Hope to order again during our stay. Highly recommend.”

“First time review. The shop has really good prices! The 20% Tuesday’s really help, the store itself was BIG! Just can’t touch or look at products, even with beefed up security, it’s cool tho. Picked up this brand called “Henry’s” never heard or tried them before. The bud tender with the cap 🧢 was a bit pushy or paid spokesperson, he kept trying to sell me some Zips colored fruit loops stuff? I told him no DUDE, get me the HENRYS lol.
