“Wonderful all-day boat trip to the Farallon Islands! We saw many humpback whales and 2 blue whales, plus various birds and seals. The guides provided good commentary and information as we went along, helping everyone see as many animals as we could. The captain was adept at spotting whales and following them for a short while at a time. Amazing close-up whale sightings, we loved it.”

“I really enjoyed this mini museum & loved reading Steefenie Wick’s story about The Navy Band from Treasure Island. The interior murals were great and there was even an artist painting while I was there. It was peaceful, serene and beautiful - a nice escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. And on the clear day I was there with the sun radiating down on me as I looked across the bay, I took a deep breath internalizing just how fortunate I am to be here in Northern California with this view.”

“At least at KDBS you are more likely to get a margin call than a ----y call yall. And the teachers here were some of my best friends. I was on the good side of Senora P. I was told my last name was not even pronouncable en Francais. I had a great time in the lady's 4th grade class the one who was like from that Ab Fab British Comedy Show played by Joanna Lumley. I had a great time when my classmate's mom shook me from my bunkbed saying wake up you agreed to go to get Kikki's suitcases and go out for Chinese food. I had a great time here making a mission out of clay and matchbox cardboard boxes, clay bricks for the mission. Racing home after school in the mid 1980s to watch Scooby Doo. Telling Bethany F. to close your nostrils when the yellow jackets are flying around the purple liquid collection bucket at lunch time. I feel empowered from going to this school afterall, the thought put into our future by our teachers. I was assigned to a job at the Bridgestone Arena for cleaning crew last Friday Sept 20, 2013. I was efficiently cleaning up cups and trash and moving cups with liquid to side of the stairs for more efficient collection into the liquid waste buckets. I was also assisting Ran Higgins writing out name tags for the crew. Ran told me this would be easy work and we would work until the job would be complete somewhere around 6-9 am on Saturday. Unfortunately I felt threatened and disrespected by a supervisor, a stupid male, who was not being kind to the other workers. And was being disrespectful to the women on the cleaning crew. I am actually unemployed female US Army veteran (e-3 Medic) and informed the supervisor (he would not give me his name). I signed a contract that I am to complete all jobs I am dispatched to. However I feel clearly this is not my fault, I should not feel physically threatened or harassed at work. I was grateful for the work yet was surprised Bridgestone Arena would hire a male supervisor who does not treat employees with basic dignity. Fortunately security officer J Christensen came over to observe the situation and took down some information and told me he would contact Labor Smart Nashville office on Monday. I worked for 2 hours and would like to receive compensation for my work and to be forgiven by Labor Smart and allowed to be placed on future assignments through Labor Smart. This morning, I called the Louisville office (I am now in Louisville KY) and told the manager of the indignity I faced on the job in Nashville. I have been to other jobs recently where I am told that I am overqualified. I also happen to be a writer that is looking for temporary work and I enjoy travel and job flexibility. I have a BA in Psychology from University of California San Diego. I prefer working in day labor over office positions. I enjoy the flexibility of new job assignments, uniforms rather than a typical female closet and shoe collection necessary for administrative work. Being a female veteran, going to Iraq for Operation Iraqi Freedom and returning home to America to face a male supervisor who thinks its okay to treat women with disrespect is not only not okay and troublesome but unacceptable. ”

“You can drive your car right up to the paddock,there's ample street parking and the place is beautiful. Didn't see the bison free in the paddock as it was late when we got there... We did catch a glimpse of them in their enclosure ....Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!”
