“This is my favorite Italian restaurant in Bay area and Santa Cruz mountains. The atmosphere, not to mention giant redwood trees outside, is awesome. The staff is excellent the service is excellent and the food is excellent. I've asked them a pitcher of ice tea because I drink a lot of it.. and they gave it to us. “After an entire day of moving, a friend and I stopped by on a whim because we were starving, it seemed open, and it looked pretty interesting off the highway. We got the sampler plate for two, potato and leek soup, and herring. We also got a couple of cocktails, which were reasonably priced and tasty. Parking was a bit of a pain, even late in the evening, so be mindful if you show up during a busy hour. Everything was delicious, and my friend, who grew up eating German food, said that the red cabbage was perfect. We showed up at almost 9 on a Saturday (they close at 10), so it was very quiet. Service was excellent, and food was served promptly despite it being late. We appreciated that they didn't rush us at all, even though we offered to just order for takeout once we realized they were closing soon. It's a bit out of the way, but we would definitely come back the next time we're in the area or passing through.”
