We found Mijo’s on Google & saw the excellent reviews. It was perfect! Just a few steps away from the beach and the decor was very pleasant. As we stepped up to order takeout, the chef was excited to serve us and gave some helpful suggestions. I got the shrimp burrito & my wife got 2/5 tacos. We also had some fresh-made chips, salsa and fresh-made guacamole. Oh, and their salsa options are incredible! If you’re in Capitola & was some delicious Mexican takeout, we highly recommend Mijo’s Taqueria!”

“Best Thai place in town. The spice scale is perfect. The customer service is 10/10 polite and attentive. I saw some old reviews complaining about the service but I just can’t imagine that here. Every time I’ve come by the people here are so kind and always asking questions to make sure everything is OK without being overbearing. The food service is timely, not slow, and everything is seasoned SO well. NOTHING is bland or overdone, I can’t believe I have to say that. But I’ve tried places in town where it IS bland or TOO sweet. Definitely worth a try if you’re hankering for Thai!”

“I have lived in Santa Clara California for 18 years since I married an American. Many weekends we go to different areas of the bay, Capitola is one of my favorites, especially in summer. We go to this restaurant for lunch as soon as we arrive, the atmosphere is incredible. They have many tables inside a very spacious room, but I like the terrace facing , where there are always seagulls and other birds. Well behaved dogs are welcome =) the quality of the food is excellent: Is Californian & Mexican cuisine. I recommend start with or the calamari, so good. In winter the clam chowder is superb. If you like margaritas, the mango one is fantastic.The staff is friendly, professional and the service is fast. I highly recommend this place for a fun moment with good food.”

Definitely was not expecting such an amazing meal, especially when the restaurant is located in some sort of business building. The appetizers are great and very reasonably priced. The salads are mostly under $20 and are huge. One of my favorite things about the restaurant is the menu. I have not been to a restaurant where I liked almost every single item on the menu. I couldn’t take a picture of everything we ordered because I was too excited to eat but here’s the breakdown: Overall Experience -Staff are sweet and friendly -Plenty of parking around the restaurant -We sat outdoors and had a beautiful view of the woods below but there’s also indoor seating What we ordered (the menu changes!) -Budino with Roasted Grapes: excellent -Caesar Salad: great dressing -House Made Sourdough Focaccia: standard delicious focaccia but the hummus stole the show -Boneless Beef Shortrib: pictured below and it was amazing. I loved every bite and even the broccolini was addicting -Fogline Farm Stuffed Chicken with Spaetzle: my partner ordered this meal and I only got ONE, albeit delicious, bite since he ate it so fast and didn’t share -Brownie ala Mode: I don’t even like chocolate but loved this -Seasonal Sorbet Trio: Incredible. The kiwi flavor was outstanding as it had the perfect balance between the sweetness, and tangy tartness of an actual kiwi We’ll be back, see you then!”

“This was our first time picking up breakfast burritos here. They were delicious and I highly recommend getting the barrel. I ordered 3 of them for the family. They were reasonably priced as well. For 1 large and 2 small burritos it was around $28. Parking was a little tricky as it's a busy area on east cliff. Cash only and I called ahead for pickup in 20 minutes. When reading the menu with my girlfriend, the man at the counter was making suggestions, cracking jokes and just making the experience a totally fun time. Ended up getting the foot long for myself and my gf got the normal beef dog. The amount of toppings available was great to see and the friendly service really made the experience great. The reason for 4 stars is that they keep their rice hot and it makes the fish really warm. This is an easy fix and would significantly improve the overall flavor and quality of their bowls. I’m a huge fan of poke and have been to countless places all over California and I’ve never been served hot rice, definitely not ideal to eat warm raw fish. “A really popular and relatively affordable casual dining spot located on the long boardwalk. It’s manned by a number of friendly workers but you’re kind of on your own after you’ve placed your order - they have outdoor dining so you need to find your own seating and it can get quite crowded. You also have to wait in front of the counter so you’re there when your food is ready and they call out your name. Not much method to the madness but given the good, fresh tasty food, one can bear this minor discomfort. Coming to the food - They sell fresh seafood as well. The clam chowder is very popular and I checked with them to ensure it didn’t contain pork. It is quite delicious and served with crunchy saltines. For around six dollars you get a decent portion size. With this I recommend getting the fresh fish tacos - these are 3 pretty large doubled up taco wraps with a good mix of fresh pan fried fish, veggies, sauces and interestingly - apples! Have it with a squeeze of fresh lime and enjoy it with the ocean view. Finally, try the fish burger - which is a fried fish filet in a sesame burger bun with onions, lettuce and tomatoe - the lettuce looked a bit old but remove it and add some hot sauce and you’re good to go. They also give fries on the side. Portion sizes are generous!”
