Beautiful campground with a nearby creek and Giant Sequoias throughout. Clean bathrooms (vault toilets) and tidy campsites were all maintained by our friendly, helpful camp host, Dan. Not too buggy.
We stayed at campsite 1, and really enjoyed it. Will probably look at 14/15 or 9/10 if we come back with a group. All campsites had newly installed bear boxes.
No tap water, you'll have a creek running throughout the campsite bring a bucket. Be ready for no internet connection. Is very nice campsite. Beutiful nature. There is bear activity.
Beautiful small campground with a creek running through it and giant sequoias scattered through it. But please be aware as of August 2020, there are two very active juvenile bears in the area patrolling the campsites for food. Keep everything locked down at all times. One of them tried (and failed) to get into our campmate's Yeti cooler even with a dozen people yelling at it from 20 feet away. Keep even bear-resistant coolers and bear vaults inside your vehicles and covered up when not actively preparing and eating food. The two bears continued to patrol the campground the entire time we were there, coming through every few hours. They were not aggressive towards humans, but they also were not easy to scare off, even with a LOT of loud noises (banging pots and pans, honking car horns, yelling, etc.).
This is a great, quiet campground in a redwood grove. It is awe inspiring an beautiful with both a Creek and a river.
Very nice creek runs right in middle of the campsite. Not the best place for fishing within the site, but the tule river a drive away is good. Not a lot of mosquitos.
