“I recently took my oldest to the library for the first time yesterday and we were both delighted. The dear lady in the children’s section couldn’t have treated my child better than if A. (my child) had been her own; she took A. on a special tour of the section and showed A. all the wonderful different resources available to A., and was incredibly helpful in recommending books she knew A. would be interested in. A. was very excited to get A.‘s own library card and the lady in the main section was incredibly sweet in how she spoke directly to A. and asked A. questions about what A.‘s interested in and how the library can serve those interests. We left with A. feeling so excited and empowered about using such a great resource and being able to develop them in a friendly, encouraging environment. As a parent, I was thrilled to see my child growing and getting excited about learning for learning’s sake, which I think is so critical for personal development and good societal health and engagement. It was a great day and a wonderful experience.”

“My family and I love the Banning Library. My kiddos love the activities. The staff is friendly, helpful and very polite. I believe a good library is a staple and focal point of a community. It's a place where kids can gather to learn and explore their creativity. For me, the Banning Library is just that, a great place for the community to come together to learn.”

“Gorgeous botanical gardens with a large variety of tropical plants, ferns, orchids and fuchsia, as well as cactus and succulents. The docents lead very informative tours, well worth doing. Admission is $5 and parking is free in their parking lot, although their parking lot does fill up on weekends by about 11 am, so get there by 10:30 am on weekends to get a spot, otherwise you will be hunting for 2-hour parking spots on the street.”

“I have been going to this place almost since they first opened about 40 years ago. Back then we were students with no cellphones or technologies available now. Those books and those helpful staff were all we had to achieve knowledge. When I was getting my masters to become a teacher I used to go there as well. Both of my sons and my daughter went there during high school. This place is a treasure of knowledge and many of us should be thankful for.”

“A museum that shares the history and culture of the Morongo band of Cahuilla Indians. The museum is small but packs tons of information into the tight space. There is also a native garden which informs visitors of the historical and cultural usage of these plants for the Cahuilla. Make sure to have a valid ID since you will need it to enter the reservation where the museum is located.”
