“We had the BEST ride with Sydney today! She is incredibly talented, friendly and compassionate. We learned so much about her beautiful horses Duke, Missy and Baby Horse. Such lovely, calm horses! The views were spectacular, the trail was perfect and we really couldn’t have dreamt up a better morning. Thank you, Sydney- we hope to see you again the next time we are in Colorado!”

“This used to be my house so I have something of a soft spot for it. It's changed its name from Utica Street Market and I can't quite remember what the new name is but I do know the owners since they were children and I'm sure they're doing a great job. It's a one-of-a-kind place in the original 1896 post office building for Ward.”

“Great area for the campers. Located next to Brainard Lake in the Indiana Peaks Wilderness area. This area sees a lot of visitors not just because of the mountains and lakes, but the moose. Visitors need to remember they are wild animals.”

“This is a really convenient and large parking lot. We I tended to hike Blue Lake and we're going to g to park at that trailhead. It was an exceptionally busy summer day, so they were actually turning people back from the main entrance. This lot has restrooms and a TON of parking, and it's free!”

“I have a lot of memories here. Its a historic old building, from The early 1900s. Georgia Okeefe painted it during her stay in Ward once. These days it hosts many local parties and a couple simple holiday services. Some awesome local bands have played here. Many for benefits for our local radio station Way High Radio. This building has a lot of value to this town!”

“At first, we used it to turn around after making a wrong turn. We later went camping in the area, and remembered just how nifty the place was. Stopping by was great! So many fantastic little trinkets. And a atm! Great and interesting hosts as well. Leave a note ours has an octopus on it!”

“Greta's gallery is a hidden jewel. She has a really nice balance of her own art and that of other artists. Her paintings are absolutely beautiful. She has created a very unique setting in the mountains worth visiting. I particularly love Carol Jenkins & Heidi Kummli pieces. Talking to Greta is always a plus !”

“Moderate difficulty. The path is clearly marked. We ran into some volunteers doing some repairs to the trail which was nice to see. We also ran into a moose on the actual path. Luckily, we didn't spook or scare it. Fun hike.”
