“A lovely park for a walk. The playground is a nice place for little ones to climb and play. The interstate noise can be overwhelming, but it's a nice park for families.”

“A beautiful memorial with all the quotes of Martin Luther King Jr. Engraved on the walls. They have atall statue of him which over looks the lake. This place is open 24 hours and anyone can walk in. There is no entry fees. We went there around 2:00am and the place still had a handful of people moving around. It's better to go a little later to avoid the rush. They have electric bikes which can be rented but the process to register for it is a little long.”

“Excellent memorial! It is hard to honor an event that spans years and has people from every state and protectorate, but this memorial did a wonderful job in representing such a pivotal event. It was inspirational and, though not a 'moving' experience, its round design embraces the visitor and the quotes are uplifiting, helping us to understand the significance of this war. The fountains are beautiful and well situated and there is a great view of the Lincoln Monument in the distance. Turn and you will have an incredible, clear view of the Washington Monument on the Eastern side of this WWII Memorial. The best part, for me, were the smaller relief sculptures in the walls depicting various types of soldiers, war scenes and life on the home front. Take the time to look at each of these!”

“So many pass these on their daily commutes, but how many walk right up to these beautiful gold statues to appreciate their massiveness? They are worth checking these out if your're visiting the Lincoln Memorial. You'll also get great views of the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument and the Robert E. Lee House down the Arlington Memorial Bridge across the river in Virginia.”

“Absolutely loved my time here. I made a quick visit one day and made sure I came back again. It was really fun to see plants from different climates, desert, tropical, temperate. Loved to see plants like banana and vanilla that I had heard of but never seen. The gardens outside are fantastic and great for sitting and relaxing. There are good resources for learning as well.”

“Really great place to spend an hour with the kids. They have bathrooms onsite and a nice picnic area. There is also a place ground that is sized for the 5 and under kids. It is walking distance to Starbucks and the commissary via a small path between some houses. If you are stationed here or at Andrews it is a must try before you move.”

“Often forgotten, but always profound, the George Mason memorial is a little known treasure tucked away behind the Jefferson Memorial. A great place to sit and read on an autumn day. Quiet, but inviting, it's well worth the visit.”

“This was on my "Must see in DC" list, for obvious reasons. Civil Rights Icon, historic figure & monument. Standing next to the actual Lincoln Memorial is surreal. It makes you feel small, literally & figuratively, because the marble monument, much like the man himself, is ginormous. Awe-inspiring, leave with your jaw open AWESOME. The Lincoln Memorial is a great place to witness history. Beautiful Statue of our Former President Lincoln sitting in his chair. There was a nice place to eat at as well. The whole experience was good to me.”
