“The National Museum of the United States Navy offers a captivating journey through naval history. Visitors should be aware that the security process can be time-consuming, so completing it well in advance is advised. However, once inside, the museum's exhibits are truly exceptional. From interactive displays to historic artifacts, the collection offers a comprehensive overview of the Navy's rich heritage. The attention to detail and the depth of information make for an engaging experience. The knowledgeable staff adds value, providing insights and answering questions. Whether you have a personal connection to the Navy or simply have an interest in military history, this museum is a must-visit. Despite the security process, the National Museum of the United States Navy delivers an excellent educational and immersive experience.”

“A recent addition to the over 100 year old National Museum of the U.S. Navy, the Cold War Gallery is an excellent place to visit. It is a little over a block away and provides updates to it's parent museum down the street, starting, as the name indicates, with the advent of the Cold War shortly after the end of World War II. “So the nature center and planetarium--whatever. It has a drinking fountain, a restroom, some exhibits that will help you learn about the flora and fauna of the park if you're into that kind of thing. The actual park is amazing. Miles and miles of very good trail, and plenty of places to feel like you're actually in the woods, without ever having to step outside of the city. Gorgeous picnic spaces where you can host a campfire picnic for free. If you live in DC and you like to hike or trail run, this is *not* to be missed.”

“This place is captivating. I've always loved bonsai and I've read several books about it. The expereienc of being in front of some of the world's best bonsai in such a tranquil setting can't be replaced and simply viewing pictures in books can't provide the same appreciation for the attention to detail and care that has gone into the bonsai trees. Everyone in our group had a great experience. The caretakers and staff do a fantastic job. You won't regret spending some time here.”

“This is an interesting place. I was fascinated by the number of different trees that can be used for Bonsai. Each tree was unique, and some of them are a few hundred years old. I think my favorite tree was the Coastal Redwood. As a result of this visit, I will now start researching how to start my own Bonsai garden.”

“Such a lovely museum. It is easy to reach by metro and surrounding Chinatown is fun to walk around. The building that houses the museum of fantastic from the modern courtyard to the antique details. The paintings are great. They have awesome permanent exhibits but also great traveling ones. Very family friendly and easy to move around with a stroller although the changing tables are only in the family bathrooms, which were not always easy to find.m”

“Slightly off the beaten path are the so-called Capitol Ruins, a collection of literally chock-a-block stacks of stonework discarded from a renovation of the Capitol in 1958 - most of it originating from when the Capitol was first built more than 200 years ago. It has the look and feel of a strange cross between a cemetery and the end of super-sized game of Jenga. Now half overgrown by the encroaching forest, moss and lichen, these pieces of stone appear content to rejoin their more earthbound brethren after their brief hiatus from the natural-order-of-things at the whim of some know-it-all, opposable-thumbed, short-timing bio-organisms.”

“A gem. Don't miss it. Admission is high, but worth it. The house is filled with exquisite Faberge jeweled tokens the last czar of Russia gave his mother and wife. There are paintings, furniture, jewels, china and glassware from Russia and France which will dazzle anyone who loves beauty. The grounds, gardens and outbuildings are a delight. If you feel cooped up in your tiny condo, go see how the other half lived for awhile.”

“I am an art activist and this exhibit uses film and theater in a multidimensional way to educate and enlighten people about a serious social issue. Most importantly, it instills empathy by allowing the attendees to stand in another's shoes, yours of which, are required to be left behind. Any person who has a strong opinion about The Wall and US immigration policy, one way or another, should experience this exhibit. You will be moved.”

“I loved Daniel's story that helps kids understand what it felt like to go through the Holocaust. The building was clean and well set up. The architecture of all parts were well thought out. We were impressed with the size and amount of information available. We visited on a holiday weekend, so it was very crowded.”

“This place is very unique for me. From outside u can only see the memorial building with Jefferson statue in it, but they actually do have a lift to bring you down to the underground area for a small book and gift shop, another room for its history and statue. Good to pay a visit if u around national mall area.”

“Wow - lived in the DC area for 5 years without even realizing this existed. But these grounds are beautiful and really well-kept. The quiet atmosphere really feels like an escape from the city without even leaving Georgetown. Free admission in the Fall - highly recommend the visit.”

“This memorial is hauntingly beautiful. It's one of the more underrated memorials in DC. It fights for attention between the World War II Monument and the Lincoln Monument. The faces of the soldiers and the incorporation of the foliage into the overall piece makes it feel very dynamic.”
