“Only complaint is its too short! Mostly narrow, single file tail. Sights and sounds of the city melt away heading east from Connecticut Avenue to Rock Creek. Best to do on dry days. Beware several rock- hopping steam crossings.”

“Large amount of parking. Large picnic area. Area isn't quite a picturesque as some of the other picnic areas nearby. It does have direct trail access.”

“When tourists flock to the National Mall, locals flee to Rock Creek Park, the largest green space in Washington, D.C. Mainly in Northwest D.C., it starts near the Kennedy Center and winds north for miles. On a good day, it's full of runners, bikers, urban hikers, and thousands of people enjoying all it has to offer. It has a horse center, an amphitheater, historic bridges, Civil War forts, the old U.S. Capitol stones, playgrounds, workout stations, and so much more.”

“This quaint little park sits just south of the DC Wharf and is a nice, well-maintained place to sit and relax in the shade, or to run through on your way to somewhere else. The Titanic Memorial is at its south end, and the scenery is nice, with views of Potomac Park and the DC skyline. Because there is a Metro PD boat station adjacent to the park, it seems to be pretty safe and quiet.”

“There’s a tree here for each of the 50 state trees. It’s a really cool idea, but some of the trees are missing there signs so it can be hard to figure out which is which. I recommend starting in the parking lot/bathroom area on the south side of the grove where there is a sign with some info about the trees.”
