“This was a nice little trail, not very long, tucked right away behind some industrial warehouses and mobile home parks, a little island of preserved history.”

“On our way to Leesburg the kid's got...Crabby! I used to fish her years ago with my Dad. Good memories, decided to get the kid's outside for a few minutes to let them calm down. Perfect little bit of nature to "reset" the heebie Jeebies. It Worked”

“Hidden gem! Just discovered this park recently and my daughter and I really enjoyed it. There's a lot to do here. It has two playgrounds (one for smaller and then older children), a skate park, a long row of swings, a basketball court, a large pavilion with several picnic tables, and a dock with a ramp. Not to mention several pokestops!”

“This trip to the area involved a 15 mile bike ride down the trail. It was a hot sunny day but the tree covered Trail was cool and somewhat comfortable. I found it interesting I saw 12 Turtles an otter, two snakes, a hawk and 10,000 squirrels. From what I read the trail is 28 miles with only one small Bend. Trail is also extremely flat. If you're looking for Hills or a interval high intensity workout this wasn't it. This was a good workout with a steady pace, no cars or cross traffic to worry about and very few other people.”

“P.E.A.R. Park is the best place to hike. It's a natural Preserve. You can like along the Palatlakaha Creek, walk through natural meadows and just enjoy nature. They also have a pavilion that sits on a hill over looking everything and a butterfly pavilion that has a metal sculpture of all the stages of a butterfly all over the ceiling surrounded by butterfly gardens. A great way to relax and enjoy the great outdoors!!!”

“Very remote, no facilities at all, but great for families or couples that enjoy the back-country. Boat ramp for small boats. Rope swing and tiny beach on the creek. Pet friendly, but watch for Gators and bears. Well patrolled by law enforcement.”

“Also known as Deerhaven Retreat and Conference Center. Owned by Community of Christ, it is a well equipped group camping area situated in the Ocala National Forest. Accommodations range from motel rooms to rustic cabins or trailer hookups. Great opportunity to observe wildlife in its natural habitat.”

“Disney may be the "happiest place on earth, where dreams come true" but Deerhaven is the most serene place in Florida where rest, contentment, rejuvenation and joy for the soul is bountiful. The facilities are rustic with modern amenities. Rob, the grounds manager, is knowledgeable about all of the wildlife you will encounter and always available and helpful to meet your comfort needs. I would highly recommend this retreat and conference center for your group meetings and adventures.”

“Great place to camp in the Ocala National Forest area. It's within range of several other campgrounds and hiking trails, as well as the nearby town of Umatilla, where there are some grocery stores and gas stations. The camping spaces are cozy little niches carved out of the woods, arranged in a cul-de-sac formation, and with good natural privacy barriers in the trees. Large restroom is centrally located, and as clean as you could reasonably expect at a campsite. When l was there, l saw no pesky park rangers or state employees to bother you. No annoying 'quiet hours' or any other unnecessary rules that would cramp your experience. Fees are super small. Leave your payment in a dropbox and hang your ticket at your camp space. I really enjoyed the place and I'll be back.”

“An inexpensive and fabulous little campground surrounded by tall pine and palm trees. At night, glow worms skittered about the ground whilst the stars echoed their shimmer above. Peaceful, quiet and secluded, with fire pits and picnic tables. Nice.”

“It’s an amazing trail, with minimal obsticals, yet 7 miles is no small feat, there are places of questionable direction of path but I made my way just fine. I would allow 4.5 hours hike time so be prepared, I went in a little to late, and had to use my cell phone flash light to finish the last mile and a half, but regardless it is a beautiful trail and I will hike it again!”

“This is such a great place to spend a nice, relaxing weekend. It is peaceful, surrounded by nature and the owners are extremely nice. If you want to do something different to visiting theme parks and outlets, this is a great option and is only an hour away from Orlando, great for a weekend getaway in nature. The place is next to Alexander Springs in the Ocala National Forest, which is a must do if you are in the area. And if you are lucky they might even be hosting a fun event when you stay there. I highly recommend visiting Return to Nature.”
