Lake Lillian

Address: SE Robinson Rd, Belleview, FL 34420, USA

Park

“Beautiful park with ample parking. It has a partially paved walking/jogging trail all around the lake's perimeter. It's great for a stroll, picnic, or party at one of their pavilions. There is also a beautiful dock overlooking the lake located underneath a majestic tree. It's always a sight to see in winter with the festive lights strung around each tree and structure. Not for swimming or wildlife interaction, but a great park to relax and enjoy the beauty that Florida had to offer.”

Silver Springs RV Park

Address: 3151 NE 56th Ave, Silver Springs, FL 34488, USA

Rv park Campground Lodging Park

“I never stayed here but had to go check them out every year for my job to do price comparison. They are a nice park very large right across from the old Silver Springs attraction but a little expensive and they are a 55 plus but just asked about the 80/20 if you have kids or under 55 they have to let you stay. Try to get a spot not so close to at Rd 40 or you will hear cats all night long.”

Silver Springs State Park

Address: 5656 E Silver Springs Blvd, Silver Springs, FL 34488, USA

Park

“My husband and I really enjoyed this park. The grounds are beautiful and very well kept. The park rangers were very nice and helpful. The Azaleas were in full bloom and it was so pretty to see. The glass bottom tour was a lot of fun, and they showed us a lot of neat and historical spots that we wouldn't have known existed if we didn't. We were told the best spot to sit on the boat was next to the wheel by the captain, as you can see everything they do as they steer. We walked a few of the trails and enjoyed a nice lunch at the cafe. Definitely worth the trip for a fun day at the park.”

Grateful Hammock

Address: 11820 NE Hwy 314, Silver Springs, FL 34488, USA

Campground Lodging Park

“For travelers interested in music, art and community - this is a dream come true. My RV partner and I, with #FreeHugsSociety, have been here only a few days and have watched the magic unfold. What a great find! Keep it up, Dan & Donna, there's a special place, in my heart, for the two of you.”

Hopkins Prairie Campground

Address: Fort McCoy, FL 32134, USA

Campground Lodging Park

“A nice quiet campground at the end of Hopkins Prarie run by the National Forest. The Florida Trail runs by the edge of the campground, there is a bat house there also with an interpretive sign which is interesting also. There is also free parking for the Florida Trail at the trailhead just outside of the entrance to the campground.”

Silver Springs Conservation Area

Address: 5415 NE 7th St, Ocala, FL 34470, USA

Park

“There's a great set of trails to walk with a few picnic tables along the way. My only complaint is that there is not 1 map to be found of this area, even on the trailhead board. Our first walk took over 2 hours because we had no ide idea which way to turn to stay on a short trail. It was still an enjoyable experience even having to carry a 5 year old for half of it. We will go back again to see more of the trails, but we will go better prepared next time.”

“We go to Silver Springs at least once a month, sometimes more, to canoe. It is very clean & well maintained. The only time we have not seen any gators was this past weekend when instead we were treated to manatee spotting. In the summer the stores are nice to grab water, a quick bite or icecream.”

Forest Animal Rescue (BY APPOINTMENT ONLY)

Address: 640 NE 170th Ct, Silver Springs, FL 34488, USA

Park

“Such an amazing place! This is a real sanctuary run by people who LOVE these animals! These animals have been truly rescued and now can live out their lives stress free in nurturing environments that they deserve. Without people like Lisa and Kurt these, and other animals, would be bred for fur, enjoyment, as personal pets and otherwise miserable lives. They are true to the animals and true to their hearts. These wild animals that had not been able to live their lives correctly, because of humans, now are in a true sanctuary living as happy as they could possibly be. Hearing where these animals were rescued from and then seeing how they are living and behaving now, stress free, brought tears of joy to my eyes and through my heart. Kurt and Lisa are inspiring on such a deep level. If only everyone had a fraction of their compassion, sanctuaries wouldn't even be needed. I am thankful for their compassion and love of animals and they truly make a difference in the world for animals that have had lives ruined by humans, until being rescued by the sanctuary.”

Marshall Swamp Trailhead

Address: 8282 SE Hwy 314, Ocala, FL 34470, USA

Park

“It's an excellent hike I don't know if it's just me but I pulled in prematurely into a Ranger workstation where there were people working behind closed doors that were of no help at all. Make sure it says Marshall swamp trailhead before you pull in and then it's a wonderful Wilderness nature trail. I would bring mosquito spray all year as I was hiking in November and there were mosquitoes everywhere. Wonderful hike lots of nature”

Juniper Prairie Wilderness

“We camped about 20 minutes from Hidden Pond in December. It was really nice being able to swim and refill drinking water. It got pretty chilly hammocking at 40 degrees, but at least there were no mosquitoes! This is my favorite place to camp so far, and we're coming back in a few months.”

Sweetwater Cabin

Address: STATE MAPPING BROKEN, FL, USA

Park Campground Lodging

“Shh! Don't tell anyone about this place. Wouldn't want it ruined. It should remain the most secretive and mysterious place in natural Florida.”

Juniper Run Take-Out

Address: 4065 FL-19, Fort McCoy, FL 32134, USA

Park

“Central Florida nature at its finest can be found kayaking on Juniper Springs. This 6 mile paddling adventure has beautiful palms and Cypress trees around every turn. The cool, fresh water carries you along and demands that you stay alert as you get buffeted by the current. After a bit over halfway, you'll have an exciting rapid to run through, and then the tree canopy disappears with vistas of tall marshland grasses. Turtles will be found showing off their painted faces and legs, before belly-flopping into the water as you approach. The gators are hidden (mostly), but there's lots of birds and the every so often butterfly. Enjoy a beautiful step back in time.”
