“Best place! Quiet , well kept, clean, unexpected awesomeness. Lots of shells in the beach small and some larger intact ones. Had a great time and will return.”

“This is a wonderful place to see wildlife, and very convenient from town or the beach. I understand a few people have become successful commercial photographers using pictures from this place! I agree with another reviewer that the signs could be improved a little, but the brochure published by the city is very useful. I was in too much of a hurry to get out there when I had my wife drop me off at the park on Atlantic Avenue. The true trail was only a short walk down the street. If I lived here, I would probably lug my camera from end to end every week!”

“What a lovely park. We stayed at the Atlantic RV Campground and it was pretty great. Cross the dunes and you’re on the beach! 25 minute beach walk will get you to Fort Clinch where for $2.50 you can explore the 170 year old fort. Tons life of wild life. Deer seem to really enjoy hanging out near the camp. Armadillos always seem to be crossing the road, please watch your speed around here. We saw a beautiful sea turtle while walking to the fort. Not too many bugs in the campground, because of the proximity to the ocean. We got spot # 10, which I think is the best spot in this campground with direct view of the dunes and the Atlantic. The bathrooms are cleaned every day, showers are spacious with good water pressure. While fishing off the beach you can catch red fish, drum, whiting, pompanos, etc. Oh and Georgia is just across the channel. Stark teeth hunting is big here, too! Awesome, knowledgeable staff. We loved our 4 days here and are definitely coming back!”

“We love this campground! The hosts do an amazing job and the bathrooms are sparkling clean. I think most sites are level (22 and 53 are ones we had and they are). We enjoy walking along the river to the jetty and the ocean. Also, it's fun to watch the boats and larger ships. A few notes: this campground is not within quick walking distance of a swimming beach, there are bugs including tiny "no-see-ems" so bring your spray, the sites are basically dirt so make sure to have a doormat. Despite these few items, this is still 5-stars for us and we've been to about 30 campgrounds over the last year. We'll definitely be back!”

“Lovely trail. A little scary with the gators in the area, but it wasn’t bad. Paths could be better marked to distinguish between the walking path and bike trails. But overall, a nice trail.”

“Great road for biking. Signage posted for motorists to use caution, 15 or 25 mph speed limits, public washrooms are clean and accessible. Walk to the beach. The off-road trails are often visible from the park roads, but quite narrow, hilly, sand dunes in many spots. To ride these trails you must be a seasoned mountain bike rider with the appropriately equipped bicycle. Helmets are mandatory. $1.00 per person entry is well worth the cost.”

“Can't wait to get back soon, it's the Atlantic Beach front. The sand is pristine sugar sand, and not a speck of litter any where. There's really cool boardwalks through the mini sand dunes that come off the picnic pavilion and huge parking lot. They need a little work but they are fun. There were 2 trailers of horses in the parking lot in the house trailer only area. I didn't see any signs up, but I'd guess someone could pay to ride them.”

“Great place to visit and if you didn't know the house that they made the original pippi longstocking still stands and you can still see it and visit it very nice place to visit I must see.”

“Nice park at the north end of the island. Fernandina Beach High School (Go Pirates!) sponsored an activity day for kids in the community and it was lots of fun for all.”

“Ft. Clinch is a great place to relax. I've camped here before and that sites and facilities were great. It's just really hard to book. Exploring the fort is always kind of cool and we've found many shark's teeth on the beach. They have a great shaded playground near the fort entrance. They have some nice biking and hiking trails. The biking trails have hills (which is a super rare find in North East Florida). The beach isn't great for swimming but Fernandina main beach is just outside the park and offers some great options for restaurants, putt putt, and skate park. Such a beautiful park.”

“Recently spent time at Drummond Point Park during our vacation on Amelia Island. We come here every year and bring our kids here. They love walking the trails, swinging in the big chair swing and playing at the playground. Very nice and well kept park, just wish there was a bit more to the trails to explore.”

“There's a long board walk with a bit of rubber padding over the sand at the end to help make the beach handicap accessible. If you have 4WD or AWD, then you can also drive on the beach.”
