“This was the Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey circus museum when I was a little kid. It was funny to see some of the things I remember from the '60s still on display along with a lot of new exhibits. Make sure you buy the all access ticket so that you can enjoy visiting the mansion it has some amazing rooms, ceilings and furnishings inside. I remember the clown that used to come out to warm up the crowd beating a pair of pie pans together and getting each section of the crowd to cheer. A chance to see a world of another time that should not be missed. You must see the greatest show on Earth.”

“Haven’t been here in many years since I was younger. New buildings, everything even nicer than I remember. Took the family for the day when the weather was nice, had a playground in the center in the park and the kiddo loved that. I loved the dioramas of the old circus setups. The grounds are as beautiful as ever and it was a great day to walk the grounds and see the many beautiful types of plants and flowers. As every time I’ve ever been always need more time, just means we will be back soon. There is so much to see, the grounds are worth the trip alone and then the museum for circus items and the art collection. You could easily fill several days or many trips to see it all.”

“We arrived too early, the museum doesn’t open until 1pm. We left and returned too late, they closed around 4pm. Short hours. The art that we did see on the outside was amazing. I have a creative mind but my creativity is “stick figures” compared to the art on display here. It’s amazing to see creations made of rocks, horse shoes, tires, old bolts and screws. I loved it without seeing everything the museum had to offer.”

“As a local artist, I love this art center! The staff has changed from top to bottom since the beginning of the pandemic and I know that they are going through some adjustments. It has always been a great place to enter and display art and share with the local community! Exhibits are always fun and they have had consistently high level jurors. “Take a walk through opulent history. Ca' d'Zan (house of John) has been restored to its former glory. One can picture the A-list crowd dancing the tango to live music or dining at the magnificent table laden with imported bone china, crystal, and sterling which could be stored in the hallway vault. Around the corner is the bar room with leaded glass windows where guests probably found a fully stocked bar of top shelf liquor even during prohibition. Although the second floor is not open to the public there are pictures in a room at the exit to the immense patio overlooking Sarasota Bay.”
