“If you are in the Sarasota area this place is a must see, and it's free to the public on Mondays. Beautiful gardens to stroll, ponds, 3 museums and the home of Mabel and John Ringling. I was here Feb. 2022.”

“Great venue for rowing competitions! Parking can be tricky during events but once you’re here it’s lovely. Bringing a bike looks like a lot of fun. There’s a large, covered jungle-gym for young children, a few food trucks, vendors for events & ample restroom facilities. Bring sunscreen & a hat! 👍”

“Super nice! It's quiet and serene along the lake with a fun playground for kids. Also the wind makes it so it's not too hot.”

“The secret garden is by the side of the Ca Zan, and it is the buried place, surrounded by nature, of Mabel and John Ringling and the sister of Mable. There are is a gorgeous small forest of grown bamboo, with the amazing sounds of their canopy clapping together. Very serene”

“This is a nice kids playground right on the bay. It has rubberized ground cover so it’s easy in little knees. There are benches and Harts Landing beer and burgers. Also right on the bay so you can fish for fun.”

“UPDATE - my rating has changed from one star to five stars! ORIGINAL REVIEW ….We came down from Tampa to St Armands Circle to find out where Dovydas was playing his street music and returned a second time on a Tuesday September 4th to watch his performance. This was when several other street musicians ere also playing in other locations around the circle. Both times we patronized local establishments and also had food and beverages. After seeing the Association put a stop to his performing i have to wonder if all the performers received the cease notice or Dovydas was just being singled out and treated differently than the rest? The night we were there people our age 71 and 66 as well as younger adults and children of all ages were having a great time enjoying his performance. Because of St.Armand’s business associations actions we will probably not be visiting any time in the future. It’s a shame with everything going on in the word that actions this group has taken put a stop to people of all ages and race no longer being able to enjoy Dovydas playing his music at St.Armands Circle . Shame on your Association! Mike and Nancy , Riverview, Fl……………….UPDATE………………..Dovydas had a meeting with the Sarasota city commissioner and the director of the St.Armands Business association and they all agreed that Dovydas should have the same opportunity to perform and entertain residents and visitors alike. All parties above look forward to future performances and Dovydas will now be playing in the center of St. Armands circle rather than the neptune statue. Bring lawn chairs or something to sit on. SEE YOU THERE!”

“Great little place to visit to see a variety of rescued birds. Free to visit but they also take donations if you would like to donate for a great cause. Love to see places like these that help wildlife and great for kids.”

“For me this is the best experience of meyakka river park. The canopy walkway tower is about I guess 100 feet tall. When we get to the top we can see past the entire park. The walkway is pretty cool, a breezeway attaching two towers. Carry some coins to see through the binoculars. It's a steep climb to the top so gotta be comfortable climbing quite a bit. The wooden tower shakes a bit when people climb which was really cool.”

“First time coming to this park and I have lived in Bradenton for 7 years 😂 Definitely make the trip to come here, $6 per vehicle and the volunteer working at the entrance was super nice. She gave us a pamphlet, asked us what we were interested in doing and then showed us the best spots. We saw a deer and their baby, a lady painting the gorgeous flowers AND there was an outlook area where you could go above the trees. Throughout the park there are little signs that explain more about the wildlife and plants. They offer Bike and Kayak rentals which I’ll have to do the next time I come. Fantastic park!”

“As of March 2020 Bobby Jones is closed for golf - and faces an uncertain future. For now, this county-owned course, which is not being maintained, is open for walking and biking on the golf cart tracks (that can be bumpy - so leave the roller blades home). We took our bikes on several miles of loops that meander throughout the course and enjoyed having the place virtually to ourselves and seeing a number of birds - cormorants, egrets, herons, hawks, sand hill cranes, and a lone kestrel. Get outside and take advantage of these Covid-safe activities while Bobby Jones is in limbo. OH - G's Southern Kitchen, which operates in the club house, is open for meal possibilities.”

“Great place to launch. If you go north from here to the lake, download a map to your phone. There are a lot of twist and turns and no cell coverage - so download a map ahead of time. It is an easy stroll up to the lake. Lots of dead ends if you do not have a map. I personally saw the biggest gator I have ever seen with my own eyes on a river bank. Definitely worth your time if you like observing wildlife. If you plan on going South past Clark Rd. Check in with the Rangers because you will need a permit if you plan on heading past Clark Rd to the Gator Hole.”

“When I visit the Sarasota area I love to go for hikes here and enjoy bird watching. They have nice boardwalks and gazebos and Audubon experts to help you see and identify birds. I've had first sighting of birds here and ever saw river otters here. Many nature groups and Audobon groups like to go here for outings but you can also go on your own and enjoy!!”

“Bee Island is a primitive site that is about a 3 mile hike in, depending on the route you choose. Easy hike, flat. Located in a oak hammock, just off a trail and an access road for rangers. Very peaceful. On the nights we stayed we saw lots of birds and listened to owls and coyotes during the night. There is a water pump that provides water but it MUST BE TREATED by either filtering, boiling or some other chemical means. It has a strong iron taste but it IS drinkable after PROPERLY treated.”

“Very nice park facing the waters and marina. The playground was of course the main highlight. The playground was well shaded by trees AND canopies. Perfect spot to cool down while letting our daughter play. There is also a set of tunnels at one end of the play area with plenty of seats.”

“Wonderful area for viewing wildlife. Viewing area near lake leads to deck to visualize the lake and all the 🐊 gators. There are trails, campsites, boat tours, and canoe rental. ( metal canoes)🤣. Visitors center has a beautiful array of wildlife ( taxidermy). Fascinating image of the lakes sinkhole . 😱”

“This is such a lovely park. It has a lot of open space, picnic pavillions, and a water view to die for. It actually has 2 water views. On one side, you can watch the boats go by from the marina and wonder where these people get all that money to own and maintain these beautiful boats. The other side overlooks Sarasota Bay and downtown. Both sides are really pretty. There's a pay electric car changer and a little restaurant on the incoming road. Thank goodness, the snowbirds are finally leaving and we got a picnic table today!”

“My favorite somewhat private/public beach., besides Lowdermilk Beach in Naples. Plenty of shells. Clean bathrooms, always parking, even on Saturday. You can pull your car up to front gate and unload all your stuff so you don't have carry all your beach stuff a long distance. It's a very quiet and nice area, barely anyone on beach. I Discovered this when siesta key beach was so packed, I got anxiety from trying to park and drove away trying to find a better beach and somehow discovered this one. Glad I did.!”
