“Amazing small park! Part by the road is a formal garden with a small gazebo and restrooms and then a boardwalk through the mangroves to the river. It's right on a sidewalk bike trail so a nice stop along the way.”

“Pretty much like any other beach access. Except you are allowed to drive on the beach with your car or dune buggy. For a fee of course. Parking and walking down to the beach can be a hassle.”

“We had an amazing experience, the place is clean and organized. The displays are authentic, every section was unique. They have a big variety of plants and the staff was helpful and knowledgeable. They even have a donkey, emus and food to feed the fish! Can’t wait until next month, to stop by again. Great job everyone.”

“Great park! Public restroom was dark and a little dirty. Picnic benches with umbrellas and BBQ pit for grilling. Direct access to the beach. A place to wash the sand off (outdoor shower). Parking lot was a good size and free.”

“I stayed here over Wednesday and Thursday nights. I was in campsite 8. There was not another person in the campground the entire time I was there. It was wonderful. Campsite 8 is the smallest of all the campsites but perfect for 1 or 2 campers. I saw plenty of wildlife and even had a bear sighting. It was amazing. If you are planning on camping here please know that firewood is hard to find unless you get off the beaten path. There is a lot of wood if you get off the main road and explore a little bit. The bathroom was very clean and large. It is even handicap accessible. The water pump is nice but you cannot drink the water. Bring plenty of your own for drinking and washing dishes or whatnot. The pump water is perfect for washing hands. Campsite 8 has no shade from about 10:00 am until about 3:00 pm during the month of January. Bring a tarp and some rigging to give you a little relief from the sun. Hiking is great and if your quiet enough the wildlife is all over. You are also close to the St. John's river by a short walk or drive past the campsite. It is a fee area but I am unsure if that goes for campers as well. If you like getting out and having a great experience this is the place.”

“I have a 120 pound pitbull which I like to bring to the park. He loves running with the other dogs and ripping their throats out. The thick mulch throughout the park makes washing the blood away very simple and convenient. I go there every Wednesday evening with Zeus, come down and join us.”

“We love this park, so much todo! We have been here for 17 years it has changed so much but it is a beautiful park and they have added so much. There is enough shade and seating,or cool off in the splash park! Bring the pup to the dog park or take a walk down the trail to the fields and court's. All around a great park with ice cream right across the street.”

“Great free adventure right off the highway. We were the only ones on the trail. It was about 93 degrees so the playground wasn't a good option. The bird watch tower was wonderful minus peoples trash in some areas. Lots of wildlife to be seen.”

“This is a great primitive campground in the Ocala National Forest. Only conviences are the porta potty and non-potable water pump. Tents only. We were fortunate to have nice weather and no yapping nasty little dogs or kids. Both breeds were respectful and quiet. This was our second visit to this piece of Florida paradise, and we remembered to bring the fishing gear. Caught several mean bass and a couple of nice fat trout. They cooked up nice on the provided fire ring with grill. There is also a charcoal box on a stand, but we did the open fire. Yummy! Highly recommend River Road Campground for the novice bushcrafter that is not quite confident enough to go really primitive at Davenport Landing.”

“Awesome beach access and plenty of parking. Bathrooms could use some attention on the cleanliness and smell. The were dozens of sea turtle nests that are staked off. The price for admission is $15 per car and the allows you to come back for 7 days. The only thing I wished they had is some showers. Overall a great experience.”
