“💵OR 💳 Just need a day out? Just need new scenery? I would recommend Pine Mountain Gold Museum. They host a few events as well that they share on their Facebook page, so keep an eye out for those! We went out when they had the animal encounter. They had goats, cows, a camel and a tortoise. The feed was $3 if you wanted to feed the animals. They also had an ice cream vendor truck there, which was nice! Go into the museum to purchase a receipt for all the activities you want to do: We also went gemstone panning and took a ride on the train! The kids loved the gemstone panning; it was fun to see them excited about what their crate held! They also loved the train ride; super quick & went right around the property. Beautiful place with different activities to do throughout. Note: They do have a museum as well, but I do not feel like my kids are at the age that we could have done that yet without getting restless.”

“Very nice venue. Went for a birthday party. Couldn't give 5 stars due to the broken and warped boards out on the deck area. Several people got snagged.”

“This museum is beautiful! There is something here for everyone. The kids' interactive areas are updated every so often, so it doesn't get old. We love the fossil digging and gem mining. We learned about dinosaurs, how bicycles work, earthquakes, and much more ! We packed a lunch and ate under a large covered area with picnic tables and restrooms before we went in. I definitely recommend taking advantage of this area as well.”

“Very pleasing architecture. Tremendous building with vast space and potential. The vehicles on display were unique, interesting and very satisfying to examine! All of the staff except for one guy was friendly. I almost took a star away because of him. But I do not want to deter anybody from visiting this location. If you're a car buff I definitely recommend checking out this place. Only $15 to get in is a great deal for the experience. Looking forward to see how they develop this Museum.”

“We were met by a lovely woman. She welcomed us in and let us explore the home. Filled with different artifacts of the surrounding area donated by many and some original to the home. Quaint and the cost of admission is free (with donations request). I recommend asking to see the garage. The kitchen was also neat!”

If you need quite environment and peaceful atmosphere must visit this park.”

“So much to learn. Truly an amazing museum. Could spend hours learning and walking back in time to see the past. The artwork is stunning. The statues are life like. If you have an opportunity to visit, invite a veteran or current soldier so personal and so many real life stories. A must see on your Ft. Benning visit. It is free to see but please be generous and make a nice donation.”

“If you haven't been to this National Park, you should give it a try! You can only get there by boat with a round trip cost of ~ $35 pp. That doesn't include your standard NP entry fee (which I did not see anyone checking for at either end of the trip) of $10 pp. Other than a couple of restrooms and water bottle filling points, there are no amenities on the island. There are no trash cans... so you pack it in, you pack it out. To get the most out of this location you should have a reasonable fitness level. The route around the southern half of the island with some exploring will take about 4 hours to hike. It isn't likely you would be able to see the whole island in a single day trip. Bicycle rentals were not available when we were there, but for an additional $10 you can bring your own bike on the ferry. The terrain is mostly easy, but there is some sand to traverse which could be challenging. You will be delighted to see feral horses roaming about, along with the usual array of wildlife, like deer, turkey, wading birds, armadillos, and at the waterfront manatees and dolphins. Check out the website to find out more features of the island... there are too many to list in a review!”

“This outdoor museum is wonderful. I took my 86 year-old dad there and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Those that volunteer at this museum have years of experience in aviation and have experience in a variety of areas in aviation. They kindly took us around in a golf cart and showed us the planes, giving us insightful details about the planes. On 1 cargo plane you can go inside. My dad can walk up a few stairs but if you are unable to walk, you can still see inside the cargo area of the plane. If you can walk up the stairs, you can see and sit in the cockpit seats. This place is a hidden gem and I hope to take my dad again.”

“I took the library pass and went with the family. It’s just amazing to see what Indians have done and lived in this land long time back. The place is well preserved and maintained and we had a good time walking around the trail and knowing about the history. The whole walk and visit took us around 2-3 hours. Do not miss the river walk laid out in the map and the pathway under the bridge.”

“Wish I could give more stars. My boys bought me a ride on the T-6, which my father flew in WWII and the Korean War. They even have it dressed up with his famed squadron patch - the Mosquito Squadron. Everyone working there is a volunteer, and everyone we met is the friendliest person you ever met. They rightfully take great pride in the work they do and love to tell you the stories of their planes - and boy do they have some great stories. Truly a fantastic group of people doing some amazing work.”

“I went to school there (called North Avenue Elementary). My mother yanked me out of a parochial school when that school did not have enough qualified teachers for my grade. My first exposure to a school library happened at North Avenue Elementary when our 5th grade class toured the small library and I was told that I could check out a book to read at home. That got me reading Freddy the Pig series that exposed me to cultural and morality issues within the story line. Got to experience bullying from Butch and Jimmy and to this day do not like bullies. But my 6th and 7th grade teachers (Mrs. Taylor and Mrs. Schneider) put on a learning path that has served me well all my life. They are long gone but their positive impact on me lives on.”

“A hidden gem in Roswell! From the first Apple computer to the WWII Enigma machine to probably the world’s largest collection of Cray Super Computers, this was a fun find with interesting things for all in our group. Cool Apollo exhibit. Had no idea this was even here until today. Great date night or educational experience.”
