“We would recommend Holiday Acres! We decided last July to purchase a camper and during our search for a seasonal campground we visited Holiday Acres. Everyone there was very friendly ( including the seasonals) we decided to go with Holiday Acres and we camped for the rest of the season. We do not regret our choice one bit. We always have a great time and our grandchildren love it here. Can't wait for the season to start again!”

“Northwoods RV Resort, own and operated by Zeman RV Resorts $$. This campground has been under new owenership and management since January 2017 and renamed Northwoods RV Resort. Old name Paradise RV Resort. If you haven't been there recently give them a try. Totally new look and experience with many organized fun activities for all ages. The 2019 camping season major improvements were made throughout the resort. One constructing a new entrance at Garden Prairie Road and Jackson Street next to the school. The old original entrance is permantly close due to rail road safety. The new entrance has a new office/general store selling a few basics needs. The office closes early on weekends so if you need ice, propane, etc. you might be out of luck. Needs to be open later on weekends. A new 30'x50' in ground heated capable swimming pool with small jacuzzi and new bath house located across from the new office/entrance is now in full operation. The old barn torn down replaced with 12 deluxe concrete slab seasonal sites $5,200 per season which includes extra perks. The beach swimming area has new sand and well maintained. The large building next to beach has a game room open 24 hours and refreshment snack bar selling pizza and real ice cream, open limited days and hours. Free Dish TV and Wifi now installed throughout the entire resort. The Wifi provider the resort is using is terriable Wifi out often. Gravel is continually added to all roads filling those never ending returning portholes. Very dusty at times. A new Community Lodge located where the original office /restaurant was once housed. It includes a new pool table, table shuffle board, TV's, lounge furniture, bar area, coffee, and large outdoor seating area with fire pitt. Very nice! The resort has good catch and release fishing in the non-swimming ponds and keep fishing out of the Kishwaukee River that runs through the resort. Kids also enjoy catching frogs found in ponds. Many also enjoy kayaking and tubing down the Kishwaukee river running through the resorts. The resort has a new shuttle van and toe trailer made for transporting kayakes and tubes. The free shuttle takes you about mile up river drops you off. You'll have fun travel down winding Kishwaukee river. Lots of fun activities for children and adults have been added. One of their popular one's is the "Wet n' Wild Hay Ride", a big hit with the kids and adults who love getting soaked, but NO FUN on those chilly days. Seasonal sites take their garden hoses aiming at the Wet n' Wild Hay riders as it passes and the kids/adults also shooting back with on board water pump guns. Another new item just recently installed is a large "Jumping Pillow" which kids can't wait to jump on. Actually it designed for all ages and many parents have fun giving it a try. Other entertainment might be live band performing or DJ dances on special weekends. The lower part of the resort is still subject to major flooding from the Kishwaukee River. Long periods of heavy rain will bring the river over it's banks on the lower level of the resort flooding seasonal and weekend sites. A credit camping voucher are usually given if it floods on your reservation days. It may take several days or even weeks getting things back to normal. The upper part of the resort does not flood. Resort manager Crystal McLindsay along with her outstanding courteous support staff perform an outstanding job to assure an enjoyable stay for all. This is a very clean resort. Their down side is higher camping rates making is a very nice place if you can afford their $500 yearly increases for seasonal sited and many feel it's now over priced. In May 2019 Zeman RV Resorts implemented a new policy outlawing tents and pop-ups preventing many families and friends camping together. In April 2019 Northwoods RV Resorts reversed their decision and now allows pop-ups but still banning tents. However, many Seasonal's and RV weekenders still have family, and friends using tents preventing them camping together. Sucks!”
