“Really interesting museum with lots to see. It's more than just an oil museum. The museum has displays of early settler life in Butler Co., Kansas. The physical displays of oil exploration devices are incredible. On the day we visited, docents were firing up an oil drilling rig. When I have thoughts of oil (if ever I do) I think of Texas. This area of Kansas was a major player in oil exploration and production. To a non-native Kansan it was a real education.”

“The B-29 Doc Hanger, Education Center is an amazing place! The hanger is done up very well! With all the history of Doc from beginning to end with pictures, videos, and documents of its restoration journey. It's so wonderful that they restored this beautiful airplane!! The staff members are very nice and friendly!! It's really great to see that it sits on the grounds of the Dwight Eisenhower Airport. To see Doc fly and the other historic airplanes were so cool!! This is a great place to visit!!”

“Great place! The staff is wonderful, helpful and knows so much they can share. Anyone who loves history, antiques, and the like will love it. They have displays of everything from military history, letters, photos, art - you name it. Along with a great display honoring Coach Rockne, they have local yearbooks, and even a barb wire display. I was able to find my grandfather's high school yearbook, photos, as well as pictures of my great grandfather and grandmother Mahlon and Rhoda hanging upstairs. I never knew he had a greenhouse in the town in the early 1900s What a wonderful visit! I highly encourage anyone to check this place out, whether they have a local connection to it or not. It is a great town and 100% worth the diversion to spend some time here.”

“Amazing Experience, an active Mine with so much going on...it was very interesting & well worth the money and time. Two hours went by so fast and it is needed. Strataca helps to send you back into time allowing understanding of how mining salt began and how it has evolved. Learning the purpose of salt and how it's used today was fascinating! Everyone should visit this Attraction.”

“My son from North Carolina and I had a great time seeing our wonderful museum! Kathy Blair took us on the grand tour. She is the Curator and has done an amazing job of redoing the museum and keeps it up to date. Anyone visiting Douglass and all the citizens of Douglass, take time to see the history of our town and see the displays. Kathy and her helpers including Tom, her husband have done a wonderful job working on it! Thanks Kathy for our tour!!”

“What a pretty town. It’s definitely old, but very quiet and quaint. The museum was closed when we stopped, but we were able to check out the train. Probably won’t stop again because there weren’t any facilities near by. We had to go all the way back to the highway for a restroom.”

“There is so much local history packed into one place! The pieces they have range from "traditional" artifacts to the every-day ephemera of living in Kansas at the turn of the century and beyond. The wedding dress display is really amazing with many original photos accompanying the dresses. You'll spend an hour or two without even realizing it!”

“Very interesting museum located near the Wichita State University. A small one room museum that tells how the fist Pizza Hut was started by 2 brothers. There are lots of memorabilia and photographs and a time line of how it started so small and ended up being the well-known chain it has now become. There was nobody around, but there was a phone number on the door to call if you wanted to see inside. There was also another sign saying that the door was open to go inside, so we did.”
