“A wonderful gem in this part of our great country. Individual art expression embraced by the community is always a pleasure to experience. Memories take time to make, so make the drive with your family and have a picnic. Restoration is in process from storm damage. Keep up the good work, going to be worth it.”

“Cool way to support undergraduate and graduating art students. Some exhibits are even interactive for guests. Always something new every few weeks. End of the year has graduating students' thesis projects. Always cool to see what they've been working on for months or years prior. Shoutout to that one multimedia student who worked on developing an alien solar system for 6 years.”

“Carol and Kalle were so gracious, knowledgeable and kind. My friend bought a giclee and we went to mass at St. Jude's, where Bill's funeral was held. What a great experience. Loved it so much we are going back 9 months later (from California) and The Hemmerling Gallery is tops on our sightseeing tour! Can't wait!!”

“When I heard that America's largest Maximum Security prison held a rodeo every year- I had to see it with my own eyes! I wasn't sure how I would feel, going to a prison and watching the inmates get thrown around and potentially trampled by the bulls. But, once I saw it for myself- it seemed to me that everyone there was having a blast. I'm sure that the inmates here don't have much to look forward to on a daily basis, and not much excitement- and this rodeo gives them something fun to do, and make some money while they're at it. Bull riders make up to $500 if they decide to sign up. Also, I want to say... OMG THE FURNITURE!! I saw some of the most amazing hand built, carved wood furniture and sculpture, and the prices are wayyy less than buying the same piece at a store. Helpful Tips for the Rodeo- 1. You CAN bring in your cell phone 2. Bring CASH- you'll need it. 3. Cracklins are bomb 4. Arrive a little late, and leave 30 mins early- you will beat all the traffic. (If you leave when it ends, it can take up to 2 hours to get out of the prison gates) 5. Don't bring a purse. Only bring ID and money in pocket. Have fun!!”

“Went on a late Tuesday morning, it was empty 😁. We got spend a good amount of time absorbing the work. So much art to take in, I could've spent all day in each room. The building itself is exquisite and gorgeous. The top floor is my favorite, if you see nothing else, go to the top floor. Overall, I have a wonderful experience.”

“Anyone with a passion for tattoos knows just how meaningful they can be. I got my first tattoo 15 years ago. I was 17 and went somewhere that I knew wouldn't card me. It cost $40, and it LOOKED like it cost $40. I now have 12 tattoos, and because I have been such a stickler for quality with tattoos 2-12, that first one has always been a source of embarrassment. For 15 years, I've wanted to take my first tattoo back, but I've seen some pretty bad cover up work, so I've always put it off. Well, I finally pulled the trigger on this, and I am beyond glad I chose Burning Lotus to help me correct my mistake! I've lived all over, so I've been tattooed in New York City, Tampa, New Orleans, and Philadelphia just to name a few places and Burning Lotus gave me what 15 years of traveling did not: a redo on my first tattoo! Amazing atmosphere...its just a very pretty and understated space. It's got character, and although I would expect that from a tattoo shop, this one is really inviting and comforting. I would imagine that no matter how different from me the next person that walked in was, the surroundings would make them feel just as invited. Add to all that the fact that the staff was super friendly and welcoming. Corey V took the time to listen to what I wanted, was honest and told me what would work and what wouldn't, assisted with problem solving it so I would walk away feeling like I got what i wanted, and was very receptive to my suggestions and committed to making what COULD work the very best version of itself. I was blown away. It was a simple design, but it was really brought to life! All the while, staff members admired each other's work, and socialized with clients like they were regular fixtures there. I can't say enough good things about my experience which is the reason for such a lengthy and extensive review! For them, its just a normal day at work, but for the customer it's a lot more.... I work in business and I know people are often way more motivated to write bad reviews than they are to write good ones, so I wanted to make sure that someone reading through reviews and unsure of where to go could read this and find an answer. Gotta send as many people your way as possible! That's how you ensure good service remain in communities and that they are still there when you are ready to return for more! Thank you to the entire team, and especially Corey V for such beautiful work and helping me erase my mistake! You can't even tell I ever made it!”

“I lived two streets down from this store and repeatedly brought varied pieces to them to frame. Each time I was met with fresh ideas and thoughts about how to beat achieve what it was I was seeking from a particular piece. Can't say enough complimentary things about my experiences there.”
