“It was neat to stop by and see a replica of a cargo ship that was built in Salem. It is under construction now. There is a park ranger that lets a certain number of people on the ship at a time. Pretty everything inside was under construction but it was still fun to go in and take a walk around.”

“This is a good place to shop for edibles and prerolls. I'm visiting from Tennessee and have been having difficulty sleeping, so I dropped by Insa to pick up some indica gummies. Chris was so nice and helpful, talking me through the different products and helping me place an order. I was in and out quickly. Plus they're having a 25% off sale that goes through Jan 2nd. The Camino midnight blueberry gummies had me feeling relaxed, yet the high was mild and not heavy at all. Great for beginners or for people who don't partake daily. I had my first decent night of sleep in a week last night after eating two of them. Highly recommend for travelers who experience insomnia. I am in the Salem area once or twice a year to visit family and Insa will be one of the places I will make sure to stop in when I'm here. I didn't look at their flower or their other edibles, but from what I saw in the shop there is a nice selection of indicas, sativas and hybrids. The strains on offer seemed to be pretty high end. The only reason for 4 stars is that the prices are a bit high, although I understand that this isn't unique to Insa - it's just how it is right now in the area. Prices will hopefully drop over time as the market matures and more craft growers enter the market.”

The salon looks like a luxury resort; it is decorated tastefully with warm and calming hues, plants, and paintings. The receptionist who greets you when you walk in is so friendly and willing to help accommodate any of your appointment and beauty care needs. I go to Andrew Michaels Salon and Spa to get my eyebrows done by Esther who is just phenomenal at what she does. She is so precise, thorough, talented, gentle, engaging, and friendly. We have had many pleasant conversations while she does my eyebrows which is a welcome respite from the sometimes painful process of eyebrow waxing and plucking! She shapes my eyebrows perfectly which is essential because eyebrows really do frame the face and her work makes my face look more youthful and refined. “I'm a Salem resident and I am on a mission to tour all the local attractions AND places of relevance. About this one: This art association is located at the wharf, inside the historical yellow building close to the Friendship vessel and in the Maritime National Historic Park area of Salem. It consists of a gift shop with handmade items from local artists of very reasonable prices, a gallery on the same floor hosting a collection of Paul Nathan artworks, and a large gallery on the second floor. At the time of my visit, the second floor was showcasing a very interesting juried, temporary exhibition of various local visual artists around the theme of storytelling/myths/fairy tales. The gallery is free and open to the public on weekends. I think it can be very enjoyable for locals - especially having always new exhibitions - and visitors alike. If you are visiting Salem, it could make a nice 15/20 minutes visit to get a grasp on the local artistic scene and take a break from more commercial attractions and activities. And to possibly find a unique memento from Salem. Pictures are allowed PROs Artistic, very local and rooted to the true spirit of the town. Free. Pictures allowed. CONs Nothing to say here! 😊”
