“This place is tucked away from the traffic of 23 mile road. Alexander's is clean with an open spacious layout easily able to accommodate large parties walking in. BIG positive was they had signs inside, outside, and on table displaying specials. Bonus points for having condiments on the table so I don't have to ask for them like many places these days. I like to review mom and pop places whenever possible. I went with my co-workers after reading a couple of 1⭐ reviews saying it was expensive. They said it wasn't true. When I saw the blue hairs walking in and out I knew there was value to be had. I am cheap so don't go out to eat much. I planned to get the omelette to compare to the bad reviews but I had a hankering for veal dinner ($10) for lunch. The veal was absolutely delicious along with tasty garlic toast. The accompanying spaghetti and lemon rice soup with the meal were good. I had 2 cups of coffee and was offered a 3rd I declined. Service was prompt for a lunch hour. This tight wad will return on some paydays and those 1⭐ clowns clearly got their head dented as babies.”

“This was our first time dining here, and we will be back. We stopped in for breakfast. We had scrambled eggs, fried eggs, hashbrowns bacon, sausage and potato cakes (pictured). We were also able to try the homemade sausage gravy. EVERYTHING was fantastic! The foods was cooked exactly how we asked, and was hot when it came out. We had our almost 2 year old with us and she ate everything. The service was fast and friendly, and our server was able to answer our questions about the menu. The only downside is they serve Pepsi and not Coke.”

In contrast, I went to the Kroger next door, and simply bought ONE jello packet, canned mandarin oranges, and a small milk for over 7 dollars!! So, this food is good value. “Never been here before so drove by and thought we would try it after work. Decent food, but kind of a muted flavor to it all, if that makes sense. Nothing popped or jumped out at us as particularly remarkable, but it is what someone would call comfort food, intended to make you feel full and content. The crowd was not very diverse, mostly retirees it looked like, or could have been the time we were in around 5 p.m. but seemed more of a local hangout place for generations who are loyal to it, which is fine, but it is definitely more of a family vibe, so not really a cool bar feel inside if you are looking for that. The staff is some of the friendliest I have ever encountered and went beyond attentive, as it felt like we were all family in a living room enjoying a meal together. If that is the vibe you are looking for, I would say it is the place for you. If you are looking for a hip, diverse crowd with a daring menu, not so much. It is perfect for a safe, family meal with no surprises if that makes sense. Recommend it.”

The birria tacos with the lime juice dipped in the birria liquid they gave you is absolutely delicious. $5 for one looked pricey until I had two of them and was pretty full afterwards. I don't know how I haven't had them before, but I'm sure glad we came here! The street corn is nice and creamy, and has a great taste. My wife got the nachos and was extremely happy with her food.”

“This place is appley named as a burger bar. All the burgers we had were excellent. There are so many options for a make your own burger including a waffle for a bun. I didn't opt for that this time instead I went with a bison burger with the fall out fries. The fries are really good. I dare say they are better than the Hop Cat Fries. We started out with the pickle fries and pretzel with beer cheese. I highly recommend both. The pickle fries were better than the circle pickles other places offer. The beer selection is also good I had the Red Ale and my wife had the Salted Carmel Porter. Both were great. The atmosphere was quite for a bar type atmosphere, but it was the day before Easter at 7pm. Not sure what other nights are like. We ended our meal with some boozy milk shakes. What a great desert.”

“This is the best place to get burritos east of LA - hands Down! My 37 year old son was practically raised on them. He moved to MI about 12 years ago. Every time I visit him in Shelby Township, we come here. This time, with my grand-daughter and daughter-in-law in tow.
