Chapel of Memorial Gardens/Formerly Metropolitan

Address: 48300 Willow Rd, Belleville, MI 48111, USA

Cemetery Park

“I contacted the facility yesterday and inquired about my loved ones whom died when I was a child. I spoke with a very kind and helpful young man( I can't recall his name), he took the time to locate both loved ones, provided specific details and place markers with their names on the sites so that I could easily find them. Both my family and myself were prepared to clean the grave sites but he took care of it for us! We were able to focus on our loved ones and not cleaning the debris or marker. Thank you and we have prayed for the Lord to bless you for your kindness!”

Hollywood Park

Address: 2900 Sequoia Pkwy, Ann Arbor, MI 48103, USA

Park

“It's a great neighborhood park, but there's no parking for the park itself, though you can often use the elementary school lot. Also, there is more park across the street, but the residents living next to it have made it look as though it's part of their yard by constantly leaving decor and other furniture and toys out there.”

“Great family campground that is open for all the events at MIS. Been going there for the last 20 years. Very convenient to main gate at MIS. If you're looking for a quiet place to camp for the races, this is the place. They have pay showers. Keep the grass cut. Very nice experience.”

Zion Park

Address: 16 Ridgemor Dr, Ann Arbor, MI 48103, USA

Park

“Not sure what part of this is a public or private lawn. It looks like a community garden with a little playground partially fenced that I guess belongs to the Zion church. Several narrow paths connect this are with Eberwhite woods. Playground and garden look well maintained. There's a pavilion nearby, I guess also built and used by the Zion church. No bathrooms or water fountain nearby.”

Headquarter's Trailhead

Address: Waterloo-Pinckney Trail, Chelsea, MI 48118, USA

“My wife and I walk this trail everyday for a week. It is a pleasant walk and not to long or difficult to complete. They need to get someone to cut back some fallen trees, but it was early in the season and they didn't have time yet. The park is usually really good about clearing paths. I highly recommend getting out and exploring this location. It's fun for the whole family.”

Lower Huron Metropark

“Really nice metro park. It's really a hidden gem. Great campground areas, lots of hiking and biking trails, picnic areas galore. Every place is scenic with all of the trees and tucked-away rest areas to take in all of the outstanding views. The park and grounds are clean and very well-kept. It's a nice place to take the family for a picnic and a hike l”

Raymond F. Goodrich Preserve

Address: 3685 N Dixboro Rd, Ann Arbor, MI 48105, USA

“Not sure if it has its own entrance; there are trails connecting it to Marshall nature area. Like Marshall, the trails are a bit narrow, with many branching off. Has some hills, too.”

Beverly Park

Address: 30601 Pickford St, Livonia, MI 48152, USA

“Adorable little nature trail in the middle of the forest! Moderate difficulty in terms of terrain, but there's so many nice views because the path runs next to a small river. Lots of fallen trees make for a good climb as well!”

“Check in was fast, friendly and quick. I had a pull through site with full hook up. The electric, water and sewer hook up line were all new and really easy to connect. The pool is clean and warm. There are play areas for kids and 2 fenced in dog parks. If you bring your golf cart, there's a one way trail that goes all the way around the rv park through woods and corn fields. There is a walking trail. They have a small store at the office and there is laundry on site. Security does rounds on there golf cart. All of the staff and guests are very friendly. I will be back.”

Mud Lake Access Site

“I am 68 years old, and my father used to take my younger brother and I here when we were little. I hike the Waterloo area a lot, and was surprised when I found the old Mud Lake site. I was amazed at how the much the damn had shrunken since I was a child. It is a nice place to spent a lazy afternoon, and in my case brought back memories of a loving father.”

Canal Park

Address: 20100 Clinton River Rd, Clinton Twp, MI 48038, USA

“Not much of a park as a nature trail. There is a beautiful trail between Budd and Canal Park. If you're going later in the day or in the fall months. First bit of advice is just remember the (bugspray). Second bit bring water. Third bit don't get lost. Bring a compass keep track of where your going. It's not the largest area of trees but still can get turned around.”

“This park is awesome. It has everything. Bathrooms, tennis and pickleball courts, large fields and the best dang playground for kids. A lot of new equipment mixed with classic equipment for kids. A great new sandbox and plenty of tables. Went there Saturday morning and there were 3 birthdays going on but everyone had enough space!”

Portage Lake Campground

Address: 11700 Seymour Rd, Grass Lake, MI 49240, USA

Campground Park Lodging

“Portage Lake Campground exceeded my expectations in every way! The picturesque setting nestled amidst nature's beauty provided the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The well-maintained campsites offered ample space and privacy, and the stunning views of Portage Lake were simply breathtaking. The campground facilities were top-notch, with clean restrooms and hot showers that made camping much more comfortable. The friendly and helpful staff added to the overall positive experience, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout our stay. One of the highlights was the abundance of outdoor activities available. We enjoyed hiking the nearby trails, which offered a diverse range of difficulty levels and rewarded us with stunning vistas. Fishing on Portage Lake was a delight, and we even managed to spot some local wildlife during our stay. The sense of tranquility and serenity at Portage Lake Campground was unmatched. Whether sitting by the campfire under a starry night sky or waking up to the soothing sounds of nature, it was an idyllic retreat that rejuvenated our spirits. The only minor downside was the limited availability of electrical hookups, but it was a small trade-off for such a pristine natural environment. Overall, Portage Lake Campground is a gem of a destination for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts alike. I cannot wait to return and create more lasting memories in this picturesque paradise. Highly recommended!”

The bathrooms are very clean but close at dusk. The park offers a large covered pavilion with several picnic tables. There’s a nice playground for the kids too! Dogs welcome on leashes.
