“I was hesitant to book a room here with all the terrible reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised by my experience here. Our room was nice and clean. The bedding was in great shape, clean and the bed was not bad at all, even with me already having back issues. Staff was pleasant and courteous. The complimentary breakfast was better than most offer recently including hot waffles. Don't let the bad reviews, particularly the older ones, fool you. This place has been nicely renovated and in this price range is one of the best places I've stayed in recent years.”

“This hotel is more like 3.5 stars. It’s very nice and clean, the beds are super comfy! Breakfast was delicious with a decent variety of foods, hot and fresh. The only drawbacks would be that the pool did not seem heated (a main reason why we went) and using your key card as a light switch? (Long explanation but it’s worth noting) - This was probably the biggest inconvenience of our room. The key holder for the light is located near the main door and controls the foyer area and the bathroom lights. I understand wanting to be energy efficient but it seems like having a 30 second timer for two lights uses more power (switching on and off) than just keeping it on for 3-5mins and no you cannot just keep the key in the holder for longer amounts of time, it will still turn off after 30sec. That is barely enough time to use the bathroom + wash your hands. I cannot imagine how frustrating taking a shower would be. The only person who didn’t seem to mind playing with the key holder/light switch was my seven year old son.”

“This is a really extraordinary optical shop. Paula gives amazing customer service and expertise. She advised me on a pair of lenses I had gotten set elsewhere (the shop I had come from had botched the job), and she gave me detailed guidance on how to have a conversation about replacing the lenses and why they weren't right. I ended up buying a pair of glasses from her and she spent about an hour with me helping with fit etc. of the lenses when I chose, and the glasses were perfect when I picked them up. I am also considering a secondary glasses purchase and she gave me terrific detailed advice as well as highly personalized service. When you have someone return your call at the end of the day when they can be clocking out and going home, and they spend 30 minutes on the phone with you to be of service, I say that their work and dedication should be congratulated. “I stay here for a week every month for my job and this is a nice campground. The sites are well maintained and the staff is friendly and helpful. The only reason that I only give it four stars is that a few of the RV sites can be a little bit of a challenge to get your RV level. Bathrooms are clean and are only 1 year old! From April thru October this is my go to campground in the KC area.”

“I love camping here, the bathrooms are always cleaned, they have a shower, never run out of toilet paper thank goodness, and they groundskeeper is very nice. I would like it if they would have Wi-Fi, and possibly lower their prices on the fire wood. Other than that, and it's a great place to camp.”

“Every year we try to make it out to see the lights but the last few years it's a traffic jam way before entering the park. Curious with their popularity growing why there's not a separate entrance and exit. Not fun to sit for an hour or more and have lights shining in your eyes from vehicles behind you and traffic leaving. If it wasn't a tradition our boys love we'd stay closer to home instead of making the drive.”

“This is a great place to stay with very friendly staff willing to help with anything you need. The wedding we attended here was a wonderful occasion, and it was so nice to be able to walk back to a lovely hotel room from the reception. The banquet facilities are great. We enjoyed walking on the nature trail. The continental breakfast was more than we expected and I loved the pancakes that came automatically from a machine.”

“I’ve been at Rising Star Ranch for several years, when started leasing 2 of the barn horses, after about a year I purchased 3 of my own. I am there everyday and twice a day in bad weather. It is a true self serve barn. I pay “rent” board for the property, for my horses however just like my home, a I care for my own horses and have found the barn to be just fine. They provide hay all year round in the dry lots, paddock and pasture. There are automatic waters in all paddock and dry lots. The staff is always helpful, and repairs are made quickly to any broken fences, etc. I Love Rising Star Ranch. It is reasonably priced, there is plenty of pasture to ride in, and many other boarders around. Not everyone would fit into a self serve barn. You treat it as though it were yours. Clean up after yourselves, muck your stalls and lots. Grain your horse, after all no one knows your horse better than you, so if it needs grain twice a day a flake of alfalfa, etc as supplement to hay bale to maintain its weight than that’s what you do. When I show up in the morning ...every morning my horses great me. They are very content. I keep 2 in pasture one in lot. I enjoy every minute of my time there. The plus that everyone looks out for everyone is nice. Boarders come all throughout the day. If someone notices another horse having issues the barn manager is notified so that the owner of the horse can be contacted.”
