“Great view, alot of great history. It's a shame all that Gold and Silver mining destroyed our rivers with mercury,, contaminated our ground, changed the shape of the mountains.. but its a great view!”

“This museum is a true testament to the power of art and history. The exhibits were beautifully curated, capturing the essence of each subject with creativity and precision. The museum's commitment to fostering appreciation for culture was evident in the immersive displays and informative signage. The staff's knowledge and friendly approach created an inviting atmosphere that encouraged exploration. Whether you're an art aficionado or simply curious, this museum offers a memorable and enriching experience that lingers long after the visit.”

“There aren't too many places that allow you to touch the artifacts in a museum. Yes it's a small place but it has a lot of history and one of the few place that still sit where it was first erected. Going into a school house that's well over a hundred years old with the original floors, blackboard, and school bell. Pretty cool. Oh and it's free, just asking for donations which we kindly obliged .”

“Fun little museum to beat the heat! $6 pp and it says military is free at the front desk but when I asked the attendant he said actually no it's not, so not sure about military discount but that's ok I'm happy to support the museum. Small museum but good amount of artifacts and the a/c feels really great at 2pm in June! The reconstructed buildings outside are cool to see how they may have looked. Also cool is that they have shaded kennels for your pets, as well as a gazebo type thing with grills but I'm not sure if the public is allowed to use them.”

“Our group had a wonderful time here. Definitely sign up for a tour as you will get much more than you would just dropping-in and walking around (though if that’s all you can do, that’s okay!) Wyatt did a great job keeping things interesting, especially since we had an eight year-old with us. We learned A LOT about Lake Tahoe. Anyone who enjoys the area will benefit from knowing more and from being reminded that it is a place we need to protect.”

“First time going to a gun range and I’ve gotta say this experience was AMAZING! The staff were very friendly and helpful and the whole experience was incredible. We went with the Seal Team Six experience and the staff were very helpful in explaining how to shoot and hold the gun. The staff (I believe his name was Harrison?) was super friendly and he showed us all the steps to handle and shoot the guns and it made for an incredible experience. The rest of the facility was great with the store and the outdoor museum as well. I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone coming to Vegas and anyone that’s on the fence about being at a gun range. We felt incredibly safe during the entire time working with the staff. Also if you’re staying at a resort you definitely need to try out the Humvee shuttle!”

“We did the paranormal investigation and during the day did the history tour. If I could give a higher rating I would. Both were outstanding! I had Dawn, I think that was her name, she did both tours for me. I'm going to break both down. The history museum tour is great for the family or just on your own. Tons of facts and beautiful antiques. It was very engaging and entertaining. Very informative. The paranormal investigation that I did, she gave us tools to use that we handled directly so you could tell and see what they did and didn't do. We were given history information and shown photos and videos that were taken there. There definitely was a decent amount of activity I got to experience and some that others experienced. It was NOT threatening in anyway it was very playful and the tour guide made me feel so at home and comfortable.”

“Beautiful grounds and great place to enjoy nature. Plan on lots of walking, this is a great location to hike. The butterfly house was beautiful but not very many butterflies compared to other butterfly house I've visited. The train ride was a good way to hear of the history of the preserve. Bring lots of water we had a hard time finding a spot to purchase a bottle in here and you will need it.”

“Going there with my boys for the first time was a experience of a life time and brought back so many memories from when I was a kid. They countless pinball machines and a few of the old school games as well. Games as low as only .25 cents and up. Well air conditioning and just straight fun all around. It's a must to do when coming to Las Vegas. Family oriented and you will enjoy yourself!”

“This is a beautiful mansion with a very interesting history from the height of the gold and silver mining era. Lots of Victorian furnishings, a few which are original. There is an original painting of the mansion which played an important part in its history which has been recovered. Lovely grounds and picnic tables too! Washoe County did a great job restoring the mansion and making it available to the public”

“I love visiting train museums, and this is a great, inexpensive one to visit. It's small, but that is fine. They have an interesting small collection, much of which is Virginia and Truckee. Grounds are very nice as well. We did not take a ride, but they were available. Helpful and interesting volunteers around to answer questions. Well worth visiting if you have an interest in trains.”

“Very interesting. The tour is geared to middle school and higher, the hands on experiments (though cool) are geared for much younger. Masks will be required as of Aug. 2 2021. The 3d video was very well done. As is the sand box experiment that shows how water sheds work. Child in photo bent at 90 degree is 15 trying to use the microscopes. Perhaps stools for tall kids who want to participate.”

“For some reason I was under the impression this school was still open when in fact only one building is open, a musuem/research/culture center; while other buildings have been re-purposed for state agencies and the remaining structures have been shuttered and left to ruin. The grounds are very well kept, in sharp contrast to some of the dilapidated buildings. There is an audio walking tour that visitors can complete by calling the posted phone # and selecting the appropriate location. There was a gentleman working at the culture center who was a former student of the school! He was very knowledgeable and full of first hand accounts of what the school was like for the students. Very interesting place to stop and get a perspective on how the natives were treated.”

“The note on the door said closed but a lady saw us and opened the door and invited us in. OMG!!! We ended up with 5 members of the Thunderbirds giving us a personal tour. They even got special permission and we were allowed into the hanger. The museum is fantastic! It covers everything from the initial idea to the current day. The tour guides gave an excellent presentation and allowed pictures and answered questions. This is well worth seeing.”
