J&J is always a hit, whether it’s fresh seafood or something hot from their kitchen. We love their fried whole belly clams with homemade tartar sauce and they have an excellent selection of shellfish to take home (or have them steam for you!) Clams are a touch more well done than other places but the extra flavor is delicious with a spritz of lemon! Great prices on whole fish and shellfish alike (tons of clam varieties, mussels, lobster, oysters, etc). All service done with a smile.

This place is a solid staple in the Monmouth county community. I have loved on the area for decades and I must say this was the first time I went. I heard some great things about it but for some reason it just never happened. I’m glad that I stopped by. My aunt enjoyed her fish sandwich. It was a great portion and fresh. I’ll definitely be making another stop here.

Was my first time visiting here with my partner (she lives nearby), and we really enjoyed it. Had fried clam strips, fried flounder sandwich, and fried soft-shell crab. Not on a regular diet, but thought, What the hell?

The guy at the food counter who took our order was great, and the fishmonger over on the retail side was old-school..... I didn't ask him, but he seemed like he had worked there for a while....was probably the owner or part of the family. I read one of the articles posted on the wall about the history of J & J. Will definitely return.
