Manzano Open Space

Address: Pedregosa, Albuquerque, NM 87123, USA

Park

“This is a great place to hike. It has multiple trails, and the wildlife is amazing. Gorgeous views and beautiful sun rises and sunsets. The hike isn't very long if you're walking depending on your pace you could take half an hour or more. If you're jogging of course it is shortened. If you are not from Albuquerque NM I would not recommend just jogging this trail. You are constantly changing altitudes and if you're not used to the dry climate I suggest working your way to jogging and running. On that note, bring the kids, have fun, and enjoy the beauty of this amazing land.”

Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge

Address: 7851 2nd St SW, Albuquerque, NM 87105, USA

“Definitely a work in progress, but still a great place for an easy bike ride. Easy access to the Bosque and river and we saw lots of cranes and geese. The painted murals are really neat.”

Kirtland AFB RV Park

Address: 8285 F Ave SE, Albuquerque, NM 87116, USA

Campground Lodging Park

“Lots of sites to choose from. We are staying on the older side where there are larger gravel sites and trees, some grass. The newer side has very long gravel sites but no vegetation. There is a playground for children and the best off leash dog area (turf with wood chips, water station, poop bags, trash cans, obstacle course) on the older side. They do not accept reservations but have a lot of sites and do not tend to fill up except for the hot air balloon festival.”

This is a good spot for kids. Unfortunately dogs aren't allowed on the trails. You are still out in the open here, so bring some water and wear some sunscreen. Closes earlier than other sites.”

Elena Gallegos Open Space

Address: 7100 Tramway Boulevard Northeast, Albuquerque, NM 87122, USA

Park

“Great place for a nice sunset walk really close to NE Albuquerque. Be aware that it usually costs 1 - 2$ to park in cash, but sometimes they don't collect when I visit which is usually around sunset. It is always cooling down nicely an hour before sunset! There are many actual trails to go on, some are walking only, but some of them you have to share bikes with so make sure you are on the lookout for them since they speed from behind the bushes. I've never had problems with bugs so far, but it's really open so if you plan to visit during the middle of the day make sure you have sunscreen!”

“Love this park!! There's literally tons for the kids to do. Its super clean and the fact its covered is a big bonus for the parents taking these kiddos there. The only downside is its right next to McDonalds and the kids ask to go but seriously great otherwise.”

Sasebo Japanese Garden at ABQ Biopark

Address: 2601 Central Ave NW, Albuquerque, NM 87104, USA

Desert Springs Park

Address: 7627 Blue Avena Ave SW, Albuquerque, NM 87121, USA

Park

“It is a beautiful park that has lost its glory throughout the years. People don't seem to take care of it and the city of albuquerque only seem to come by 1 to 2 days in a month to inspect it. On a great day, this park is absolutely gorgeous! But now it is usually cluttered with trash because people don't clean after themselves. It is truly unfortunate ....”
