“Such a cool place only ten minutes from downtown Albany! A short trail from parking lot along the creek to follow for a cool view or swimming for dogs (or humans). Halfway through is a large fenced in dog park, little shade structure with picnic table and open grassy and woodshed area. Next to a community garden. Would love to come back again next time in the area. My dog had a blast :)”

Magnificent views during fall and winter. The Board members are above and beyond passionately committed to the mansion and their preservation of it. A worthwhile place to endow your support.”

“What a beautiful park to visit on a cold blustery day. We parked our car close to the lake and walked down to a bridge that crosses the lake. The lake luckily was frozen and we took the risk of standing over it. Pretty cool photo ops with this activity. There are some beautiful houses nearby as well. I really love the historical architecture paired with the beauty of nature.”

“Nice park. It has a nice splash pad. My young children love it. Newer basketball court and nice playground equipment. Just wish the cut the grass and kept the grounds clean. Whenever we go, I find myself cleaning up after others. It also has a really sweet skating ring.”

“Besides the days old dead deer at the trailhead and the unkempt trails, this place has potential. Many invasive species around and clearly no one is maintaining the area. I enjoy walking through the woods but many may not feel comfortable with knee high grass all over the place.”

“I've been a regular visitor of this park for most of my life. I love to kayak here when I'm limited on time and just want an easy trip. There's some playground equipment, picnic tables and walking paths. Watch our for ticks, as this is prime territory, as all spring woods outings are. There are bathrooms, but usually dirty. Better then none. I think the city of Albany maintains them 🤔 well. Unfortunately, a busy day there of uncaring, disrespectful, visitor's creates a mess. Good spot to bring lil folks for a few casts. Small pieces of live worms work well for pan fish. Look around on trails for turtles, frogs, birds, and many small mammals which are always around. Worth a trip if you live close, otherwise not more then a 20 minute drive.”

“History land mark in the capital district and new york state. Behind these walls, take place some of the biggest decisions that take place in our state as well as in our country. The architecture is ancient with a twist of modern touch. The stairs are famous for wedding photos, graduation pictures as well as tourists land mark. Highly Recommend it if you in the area.”

“Such a park is essential to live well and live vibrantly in a city. The autumn leaves, cloaking the park in sparking, kaleidoscopic tones of red and orange, offer a thrilling and vital contrast to the solemn majesty of the slightly decayed brownstones that line the park. Even if you do not spend much time in this park, its existence is essential to the pattern and basic cohesion of the city. This is a storied park, adorned with statues and ancient groves, a place where one can sit in the shade and feel the weight of ages past, not as a burden or responsibility, but as a soft blanket providing relief from the gruff, chaotically vibrating this institute of a strange and uncertain world. Come to this park if you're in Albany and spend a moment being wrapped in its soft, undulating, and bucolic comfort.”
