“I vividly remember the process of buying my last car here back in 2017, a used 2014 RAV4 XLE. I remember I walked in mentally preparing myself to do what I call “the dance” with a sales associate. The stressful back and forth negotiations, fighting the pressure from them to make a decision on the spot, respomding to the probing questions like "SO what do you do for a living" in casual conversation knowing it’s just them getting an idea of how much money I had to spend, etc. But to my pleasant surprise, none of that happened. I remember not feeling the pressure I was expecting to feel while talking with Brett. It was so refreshing to not have to deal with the questions and the probing. So when it came time to once again buy a car, I didn’t hesitate to shoot Brett an email. Brett is the exact opposite of everything I hate about car dealerships and car salesmen. He isn't pushy, he isn't manipulative, he doesn't pressure me to make a decision, and he doesn't use those God awful cheesy car salesmen lines like "What can I do to get you in this car today?" People don't respond to those outdated tactics anymore and it seems Brett knows this. Make the customer feel comfortable and the transactions happens naturally. I showed up for a test drive, he threw me the keys and said he'll be here whenever I get back. We talked numbers a little the first day, communicated through email throughout the week, and finally when it came time to crunch numbers and get to negotiations the next week, he was patient and didn't try to sneak things in without me noticing. He didn’t move numbers around to make it look like I was getting a deal when I really wasn’t, he didn’t try to fill silence with small talk while I looked at numbers and jumbled things around in my head. I was allowed to think about everything and I like that. I got a very fair price for my trade-in and I once again felt like I got what I wanted without being taken advantage of. The negotiations went smoothly and the whole process felt laid back, straight forward, and quite frankly, painless. As a customer, being allowed to think clearly and look at options and numbers without the pressure from sales associates makes all the difference in making smart decisions. It’s for these reasons I specifically go out of my way and drive 30 minutes from Albany to buy cars here instead of going to the Toyota dealership just ten minutes from my house. Brett is the only sales associate I will deal with going forward. I bought my last car from him, I bought my new car from him, and I will buy my next car from him. He also receives my referral for anyone looking for a new Toyota. The drive is worth not having to deal with the “Let’s make you part of the family!” dealerships. Every car salesman should be doing it the way Brett at Kinderhook Toyota does it. I couldn’t be happier with my first brand new car. I got exactly what I wanted at a fair price. Thanks Brett!”

“A beautiful retreat center on about 50 acres adjacent to a horse farm and the Old Chatham Friends Meetinghouse. What could be better? During breaks, I enjoyed a pond swim in clear water, watched a turtle near her nest, strolled along a country road to a bird sanctuary, and observed deer. Guests would be wise to walk through the halls of the center with a flashlight. There are level changes in halls and carrying one's own light and using it will improve the visitor experience.”

“A fine auction house that features quality pieces; many auctions featuring the Hudson River Valley pieces. Not overpriced with many treasures and steals. Plus excellent customer service/online service. What an old school antique auction house should be for locals and local pickup. Can’t speak for out of state buyers.”

“As the owner of Rhonda’s Reptiles, I would like to address the comments from Karma Paradox and Trey K. Whom I am sure are one and the same person. He is upset that after leaving reptiles with me for 8 mos without any contact in regards to the said reptiles, I adopted one out. He contacted me a week after the adoption and was upset. I explained that I had agreed to keep the animals for a couple months while he found suitable housing. Did not hear from him regarding the reptiles in my care for at least 8 mos, he did however ask me for meds for a sick one he had which I gave him meds for. I also would like to point out that he not once offered to get food for the reptiles in my care. Also I returned the remaining reptiles that were in my care back to him upon his request, which I made add on a legal standpoint I had no obligation to do so and all were in good health.”

“I started riding at Open Arms in May to get myself an outdoor, healthy and stress-reducing activity. It has been so great. Nothing improves my mood more after a hectic day at work than riding with Diesel (the horse) and Trisha (the instructor). Trisha is super sweet and a talented trainer. Her barn and arena are located on a beautiful property - and you can even take a trail ride there. I have learned so much not only about horses and horseback riding, but about how to listen to and coordinate between my body and mind. It's a great exercise in focus: to ride a horse you have to be totally present: mindful of your breath, the position of your hands, legs, any sounds you make... all while paying attention to the horse and where you are in the arena. After riding, my head feels so clear. If you've familiar with the feeling you have after meditation or yoga, this is very similar. Except you got to ride around on a horse with the sun on your cheeks and wind in your hair.”

“Don't do your own website. Been there, done that. You may be the best professional at what you do but that doesn't make you a web designer. Cindy was great at refocusing our site so it would be understandable by patients looking to choose a dentist. That is what we needed and that is what she produced. My new web site was given the thumbs up by not only patients but also by NYC professionals. Oh, and when your sister is in the biz you get an earful. So go pro! Cindy produced the website we were looking for, she got along with every one in the office and we continue to grow our site with her.”

“We had an amazing time!! First things first, as novice glass people, be prepared to go back to get your piece or possibly pay for shipping!! Nate was very responsive over email with questions beforehand. Studio was very clean, great air flow, great lighting, handicap friendly. All that said, it is small, but the perfect size. Glass making gets hot!!! I Recommend earlier in the day. Also recommend sneakers but I don't know if it's required. Sunglasses are a must. No seating or public bathrooms, but if you have kids they may be accommodating. The website is very good too. Nate was so calm, patient, and extremely knowledgeable. The class lasted about an hour for two people making individual ornaments. My 11-year-old and 8-year-old had an amazing time making ornaments. Was extremely hands-on. Great for a gift for, experience. Also many wonderful pieces for sale. Glass is not an inexpensive art. Seeing and learning how it works really, really helps you appreciate the cost of the craftsmanship. Wonderful part of the day trip. Part of a trip to Shaker museum or an overnight in the Berkshires. Just remember to go back and get your pieces!!”
