“It’s not quite the South Texas Tex-Mex I grew up with but there is an authenticity to the flavors and preparation that put it head and shoulders above other Mexican spots around Manhattan. Don’t come here expecting beautiful decor - this is just simple good Mexican with great service and at reasonable prices. For that, I’ll return. Also, great selection of Mexican beers. It’s the first place in NY I’ve been that has Dos Equis Amber, my personal fave.”

“Re-opened and under new ownership, Arthur’s Tavern is better than ever! Ya might want to complain that the dive bar formerly known as Arthur’s Tavern is gone (you miss the dusty decorations, hitting your head when you sat down along the wall, going into the creepy leaky bathroom…)… but once you go, you’ll be incredibly surprised that the spruced up jazz room now known as Arthur’s Tavern is alive, comfortable, clean and friendly(!!) and probably closer to the 1937 version of the original Arthur’s Tavern!! The regular Sunday night band (every Sunday since the 1980’s) The Creole Cookin’ Jazz band is back (7p-10p)! The Monday night band, The Grove Street Stompers (playing every Monday since the ‘60-‘70’s!) are also back, 7p-10p! I spent a lot of time in the pre-pandemic Arthur’s (my trombone-playing dad-in-law has played in the Sunday night band since the 80’s!) and being there last night (Sunday 5/1/22) for the first time since the re-opening (April 29, 2022) I can tell you, there’s nothing I miss of the old Arthur’s. The new owners did a magnificent job of renovation/restoration. If you do miss the old Arthur’s, check out the photos, on the new walls, of the old dive. Dixieland Trad Jazz is here!”

“Success academy is great school. Not for everyone because parents are expected to be fully involved in their kid's day to day. If you want private school curriculum taught to your kids for free, send them here. They prepare your kids to be ready and successful for the real world. It's worth it!”

“Wow. Delicious. Seriously, underrated. Best Mexican food anywhere around here. You have to try the birria tacos and/or ramen. We’ve been to other birria places around here and all that was straight up mediocre. Looking at the other reviews here, people are just silly. The prices are as they should for the location and the food is legit delicious! The employees are also super kind. This is located inside Essex market which has tons of seating and an awesome atmosphere to escape the noise of the city.”

“Feel immense peace in this temple. It’s so quiet inside — you can’t hear the busy city sounds outside. The volunteers working here are incredibly nice. Do what you need to do to come in here. Or swing by it and view it from the outside. It’s a cool building!”

“A local small everyday supermarket with friendly attention. A little bit pricey but it can be managed if I calculate the transportation cost plus the time spent to shop at a bigger supermarket. I particularly appreciate the effort of the people who owns and run these small neighborhood businesses. Thank you for your service.”

“Patelson; gone from the neighborhood. Rayburn: now dancewear, ok, but not staff paper or scores. Rest assured that the Juilliard bookstore is available for our no-time-to-Amazon musical paper-based needs, plus lots of school spirit swag.”

“Nice Irish pub with a lot of space. You have the front section with the nearly circular bar and two additional back rooms and an outdoor space in the back. Staff was very friendly and easy to talk to. Got the duck club with the fries which was delicious! Would recommend and go back!”

“The only reason I visited this place was because I booked a ticket for 'Phantom of the Opera' at Majestic theater, which is just across the street. I reach the venue nearly 2 hours early and it was cold and raining, so decided to pop inside this small restaurant. The place is cozy and I could enjoy a few drinks and light snacks while I wait for the show. Their 'hot sake' is amazing. Just what I needed to beat the new York chill. I had a soup which was also great. I liked their sake so much that when the show ended, I went back to the place. They were closing down but were courteous enough to serve me the drink while they closed down.”
