Heidi assisted us with the most incredible home birth. She is easy to communicate with and knew exactly what to do and say every step of the way. I highly recommend Heart Space Midwifery as a trusted birth team!

I recently gave birth to my 4th child and it was my first experience with a home birth. When we found out we were expecting, I needed to find a new OBGYN as we were new(ish) to the Albany area. Initially I went with Albany OB and decided it wasn’t the right fit. I have a few friends that have had multiple home births with midwives and all have loved the experience so I decided to see if it was the right fit for myself. I was a little weary as my 3 prior births were in the hospital and my knowledge of home births was limited. Once meeting with Heidi I knew it was exactly the way I wanted to bring our child into the world! The love, care and education that Heidi, Mary and Maureen give is AMAZING! Their approach to prenatal/postpartum care isn’t just care for the mother and baby but for the family as well. My labor was beautiful and an experience that I didn’t know I was missing until my son was born. In a world of instant gratification and a way to make everything faster and “easier”. There is nothing like knowing you brought your child safely into the world the way your body was designed to do. I without a doubt recommend having these amazing women care for you and your child and experience one of the most beautiful moments you will ever know!

We went with Heartspace for the birth of our first and so far only. My husband and I felt loved, supported, and educated in the new process. We had to transition to a natural birth in the hospital after a long home laboring; we felt supported in all our decisions with Maureen, Heidi, and their assistant Mary by our side every step of the way. If we decide to add another addition, we would gladly return to Heartspace. We wish others the same love and welcoming in whatever route they choose, but we would not wish ours to be any different. Heidi and Maureen delivered both of our children. Because of them and their calm, loving, attentive care, we had two incredible home birth experiences. I could not be more grateful to them for guiding us through the process of natural birth. We felt safe, comfortable, and confident throughout both pregnancies and births. I whole heartedly recommend them to anyone searching to fully experience the transformative event of homebirth.

They delivered my daughter 6 months ago, she’s my second child and my first experience with our first midwife for the birth of our son was a very difficult and a disillusioning experience!
Although my husband and I knew we wanted to have another homebirth, we were weary of the process. Happily I can say that Heidi and Maureen changed our feelings and gave us a wonderful experience with the birth of our daughter! They were supportive, kind and knowledgeable. We chose to be as minimal as possible with testing and scans, which they supported completely but they always gave me all of the information needed to make an informed educated decision! They were available night and day, always happy to help as needed or even just to chat it out with an exhausted pregnant mom of a toddler!
I miss our appointments and the time with them, I hole heartedly recommend HeartSpace Midwifery!
