“Had no plans, or idea, what I was going to do during finals week till led on through NP community FB group monday night, when it dawned on me commuting 2 and a half hours a day all week wasn't feasible. Called, told him I wouldn't be there till 1am, left a key for me - tonight's the first night I have really "been" here and not burning oil on campus, but it has been incredibly pleasant, comfortable, affordable....and I had a great successful finals week because of it....I'm 35, if your bothered by noise during the day, remeber it's a hostel, and people live here....but I have never had a more relaxing stressful week in my life.....highly recommend”

“This was a great spot for a weekend getaway. In November, it was very quiet - we did not see anyone else here at all. Very convenient to Phoenicia for all your dining/provisions, and only 20 minutes away from Slide, Wittenberg, Cornell, and Giant Ledge/Panther Mountain. The cabin had a lot more kitchen equipment than I expected, so you could easily cook real meals if you wanted. Check in/out was easy and convenient (a checkbook is helpful!) I'd definitely come back to Simpler Times if I am in the Catskills again, and I'd certainly recommend to anyone else who's planning to visit!”

“Beautiful resort. Visited on a Saturday to try something besides Hunter and Windham and was very pleased. Very powdery, good grooming team. Plenty of varied terrain apart from the glades which don't seem to be open often. Lifts are managed very well, and the ride from bottom to top in the gondola happens in the blink of an eye. Max wait time was less than 5 minutes for a Saturday. Very impressive.”

“I was up here for a night for a work retreat and it was divine. The property is beautiful on a nice chunk of land in the Catskills. Other cabins I have stayed at have that musky smell due to being in such a remote, damp area but Urban Cowboy was comfy and immaculate. The staff is fantastic and incredibly accommodating, every detail of the property is well thought out and the big soaking tub with a view is a major plus. We had so much fun bonding as a team with endless on-property activities and nooks and crannies to relax. I told my family how much I enjoyed my stay and we are already thinking about doing a reunion up here. I definitely recommend staying here for a weekend to relax, unwind and have fun.”

“Visited Menla for a site inspection prior to hosting an event here in a few months. I found the staff to be very friendly and knowledgeable, and eager to assist. The grounds and meeting spaces are beautiful, well manicured. Lots of love goes into this place, it's obvious. Enjoyed the wildlife and hikes, truly beautiful and very quiet. Perfect place for a retreat. Add their delicious food into the mix and you won't want to leave!”

“We had the loveliest time at the Belleayre Lodge and Cabins! My husband and I got away for a long weekend before our first baby arrives and Matty couldn't have been more welcoming or accommodating. He was friendly, helpful, and added a lot of warmth to our stay. We stayed in cabin 8, a studio, and the room was beautifully decorated and super comfortable. I'm almost 7 months pregnant and slept comfortably in the bed, which is potentially the highest praise I could give. We loved the amenities; pool table, hot tub, record player in the room, hammock, nightly fires, etc. We'll definitely be back!”

“Rooms are small and very expensive but lovely. Dinner in the main Dining room is great, lunch buffet is ok. We reserved a time in the Granary for dinner on Thursday night and were put in the main dining room because the Granary is closed on Fridays, which didn't make sense and just seemed like a miscommunication. So we had dinner Thursday AND lunch Friday in the main dining room (lunch was buffet and didn't seem necessary to make a reservation) and never got to check out the Granary. The hiking was great, the lake was beautiful, the grounds were wonderful. The price is steep, but for a special occasion, this place is fantastic.”
