“Had a decent dinner here. The food was quite salty in general but it was not bad. Portion is decent but is a little on the pricey side. When we were there for dinner, there weren’t many other people so the food was cooked pretty quickly and we did not have to wait for long. Plenty of parking spots as well.”

“My first visit to the Boot Room has left me looking forward to my next. The food and service was excellent. The entire facility, even the restrooms were impeccably cleaned. The staff was quick to clear finished plates and glasses, never allowing the guests to be crowded by empties. The live band was entertaining and pleasant and did not play so loud as to drown out conversations. I did not get to try the outdoor seating, but there is a plenty and from what I could see, the guests seated outside enjoyed the same levels of service. The bottle shop has a large variety of brews from around the world for you to carry home. The tap menu is well rounded and should accommodate just about any palate. Highly recommended!”

“Sandwiches/ rolls are elite! I've been to a lot of good, quick order eateries and this is up there. The seasoning and ingredients combo really works for me. The bread texture and taste. The fry on the entree. Great tea. Get a splash of lemonade. All made for a delightful lunch experience. I will return. And soon. Staff is cordial. Place is clean. I'm glad I discovered this Durham gem.”

“For the most part it went pretty well. The pot stickers are amazing. They are covered in red curry sauce which is not too spicy and I rock with them. They didn't last at all. I got some pangang curry with chicken and it was pretty good it was a lunch portion. I would definitely get it again. I'm interested to try what else is on the menu. Overall I can't complain. It's pretty cool.”

“I can't say enough good about Q Shack. The food was amazing, especially the brisket and the potato salad. This is the genuine article folks, my mom and I tried three meats and four sides, all were great. Also good local beers in cans....and recycling! It was the first place I've seen down here with recycling bins. I was so happy. I also want to note that, during this global pandemic, they are really taking things seriously...everyone was wearing masks unless they were eating. The staff was regularly sanitizing their hands. There was plenty of outdoor seating and space to feel comfortable eating without your mask on. There were also huge fans, they kept me cool AND they make a big difference in the viral load people are exposed to (if an infected person were to enter the space). I'm just hear while my aunt is having surgery at Duke, if I were local I would eat at this place at least once month. Fairly priced too, for excellent BBQ in the middle of a meat shortage. Go get some!!!”

“One of the best dining experiences I've ever had! We found this place on a "best of" list our first night in Durham - so glad we did! Ended up going back for a second time before our trip was over. The servers were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. The food was presented beautifully, and tasted even better. The menu changes seasonally, but the cast iron chicken is apparently a year-round staple. Hands down the best chicken I've ever had. You MUST dine here if you're in Durham.”
