“The actual park is a little bit of a walk from the parking area. There isn't any signage either. There is a sidewalk leading there, though. It is well shaded, but there isn't much grass. It's mostly dirt and sand; I wouldn't suggest taking your puppy here after it's rained. The people and dogs I've met here have been very friendly. It was a great place for my 3 huskies to run and play when we lived in the area. Lastly, there are water fountains there for pups to have a drink after playing hard. Be a good pet parent and clean up after them, please. 😉”

“Great park for littles and for trail enthusiasts. The play structure is decently sized and close enough to the tree line for a good amount of shade. The soccer fields are always well maintained and manicured, as well as the rest of the general areas.”

“This is a beautiful park but small. It's connected all the way to the Botanical Garden. It was 1+ mile the area I walked. The Fall Foliage is beautiful and I enjoyed seeing the beautiful Fall color and walking on dried fallen leaves. There was a violinist with his dog playing beautiful music. The Botanical Garden section required a crossing the street, and it has a long boardwalk that leads you to the lake and back to the street. The bathroom is located at the entrance of the parking lot for this historic park. The Botanical Garden also has dirt trail through the trees. This historic park has a large home and a mill. There are art work thoughtout the park. The rest of the park has paved trails. Visiting here in the Spring must be even more beautiful with flowers blooming.”

“Perfect timing actually. Went to the park off Walnut , it was wayyyy to many too big & bad a** kids over there cussing and carrying on... tryna show off like it's cool to be a kids yourself cussing , around smaller kids. My kids hate that park when they are there and it's always those same disrespectful, no home training BRATS over there.. so , if you ever see them on Walnut keep driving. They are terrible influences on your kids!!!! However, this park wss literally 4min around the corner and while I'm low on gas 🤷🏽♀️... it wasnt out the way of where I had to go when I leave .. gave me time to actually let them play , get a piece if mind from the attitudes, crying, and the yelling about a park! We are from Greensboro, and I never knew abt this park.. it's a bigger park around the corner (literally less than a minute) but it seemed a little packed at the moment. But it looks very nice and actually has parking. This park is much much smaller. But it is more than enough for a 4 year old and her older sister who's 8! She didnt mind. She just wanted to play! Whoever decided to put s park right here off of MLK ~ was a genius! Thanks a bunch ♡”

“If you want to take a walk or run in a peaceful place this is it! You can stroll the park and enjoy all the beautiful flowers and trees or pick a bench and read and relax. The park has many places for taking great pictures. You can take a blanket and lay on the green grass and have a romantic picnic in the park.”

“Visited the Marina for the High Point Triathlon. As a spectator, the location was very accomodating. Only thing I'd note is that for large events, once the paved lot is full, over-flow parking is in grass lots. Just something to be mindful of if you have a choice in vehicles or want to arrive onsite earlier.”

“I enjoyed it. Few things: They have wooded areas as well as what I call the parking lot. We were in the "parking lot" we had space to pull everything out but we also were woken up a few times by the neighbors as they were out walking around in the gravel. The sites in the wooded area you must pay attention to the map when choosing sites. Some sites were only 30 amps, some sites shared water, etc etc. The tent sites all were on individual risers. There's piers you can fish. I saw 2 playgrounds There is a bigger playground at the marina which is next to the campground . Overall I will call There again. We paid $45 a night. No late night check in but we knew that in advance and planned accordingly.”

“This park is beautiful! Lots of numbered areas you can reserve for parties and gatherings. The restrooms are clean. You can fish, play volleyball or grill. There's areas for camping with pathways for walking and exploring. They also have a pool area with slides. Definitely recommend coming here!”

“This is one of the neatest walking tours I've been on. It's free too! Constructed with a lot of time and effort and money, this park and museum gives history lessons on the Revolutionary War ( how America separated from Britain ). It's a great walking trail and they've put together a phone app that gives details at each memorial site.”

“I appreciated the honor shown the all the branches of the armed forces. You and buy a brick to be placed on the paths. There is a piece of the world trade center from 9-11 that you can touch and take pictures with. Lovely play ground for kids is next to the honor park. Lovely grounds to walk or sit.”

“Wonderful public park. Hiking trails of half mile to three miles, volleyball court, playground. But the crown jewel is Mackintosh Lake! Kayaking here is a great experience! Rental kayaks are available, call ahead for seasonal availability. Or bring your own with $5 put-in fee.”

“What a magnificent tribute to our heroes. The Monuments are beautiful, there are waterfalls in the center and then obelisks all around. We went on Veterans Day weekend and all the flags are at half staff. It was a moving and wonderful Memorial honoring our veterans. Highly recommended visiting. There are plaques and dedications to every war and each of the battles faught. Going on the hundredth anniversary of Armistice Day was extremely emotional. They have done a wonderful job at Carolina field of Honor”

“Beautiful park, easy hike. I went with a group and we passed quite a few others out walking their dogs or just enjoying the (really) brisk morning. We were near peak on leaf color and it was really pretty. Interesting things to see include the unusually heavy rocks that form a kind of rock garden along the trail, a fenced off pit that they think might represent a very old mining attempt, and the headwaters of the Haw River (which are a bit swampy but still pretty.”

“Beautiful tree line, my route to the running trail that I go to in country park. Easy enough and well maintained, different than the parks I’ve seen: it’s paved and walkable.”

“We went on the first day they opened… it was full and spectacular! They have a huge family swing to sit on and photograph with including two old tractor/trucks. You should also bring your own plant cutting pruning shears they charge $10 to buy and the bucket is also extra but it’s a nice tall one you can bring back to fill and you don’t have to buy it again. You don’t have to buy tickets online but I suggest doing so for busy times of day due to covid and it’s not a long walk from the parking to see the flowers which is so nice. It’s $15 per person, 3 and under are free and everyone gets one flower for the paid admission ticket, so if you don’t want to pick with the bucket …at least you get a flower to take home. 😀🌻🚜💛🌞 I suggest going sooner rather then later because of the cutting there will eventually be less and less flowers to see.”

“Having a National Park in Greensboro is definitely a feather in the city's cap! Great place to learn about history and get in some exercise. Check out the various off road trails for an escape from the city without even leaving town!”

“There's typically a good amount of dogs present when I come. Perfect for getting the doggo some play time with others. The park is large and nicely shaded in a woods environment. While you will find some owners don't clean up after their dog, I would say the majority do and the trash is emptied regularly.”

“This was our first time EVER setting up our travel trailer, our maiden voyage as they say. They staff there were incredibly helpful and supportive as we set up the travel trailer for the first time. They checked on us at least 3 times the first day to make sure we were doing ok! I really appreciated that. The noise from the interstate is present, be aware of that when you book. This is a great place to set up for visiting the area. I wouldn't pick this place for a camping experience.”

“This is the most amazing public park for kids that I've ever been to! Amazing, giant playground with tons for the little ones to do. Additionally, there are several ponds to walk around, a dirt track for bikes, a public garden and more. Truly a community gem!”
