“Sometimes you’re lucky to find that one in 1 million place that makes your special event 100 times better than what it could’ve been. That is Strouds Creek Farm for you. If you’re looking to host a birthday party at an Idyllic place with adorable dogs, goats, roosters and horses - this is it. And the hostess Anne Marie is so charming and makes the whole affair of hosting a breeze! I have a very happy 9 year old today. And am Probably going to go back for at least 10 other birthday parties ( every kid there wants to have their party there!). And a huge shout out for the Sustainability initiatives Anne takes to reduce our plastic use. Just book it !”

“We cannot recommend Windy Hill Farm enough! From our first visit we knew this was where we wanted to get married. Holding a wedding at Windy Hill Farm feels like having the perfect backyard wedding (if your backyard came with a historic home, baby goats, and all of the perks of a professional wedding venue). Not only is the setting picturesque, but Chiara is one of the warmest and kindest people we have ever met. She honestly made the process of planning a wedding in only 7 months so much easier. We knew she was always a text, email, or call away if we had any questions. She is a true professional and provided us with so many tools and recommendations to help us plan our day. When we visited the venue during the planning process, she made us feel welcome. On the day of the wedding, she was there the entire time helping to make sure our day went smoothly and to answer any questions we had. She and her team made sure everything was set up and were patient with us while we tried to decide if the weather would hold out long enough to have our wedding outdoors. The venue itself is beautiful and allows so much flexibility – we were really able to make the day our own and everything turned out even better than we could have imagined.”

“Terrific place to stay just outside of Chapel Hill. Close to everything yet away from it all in a quiet country setting. Very peaceful and relaxing. I extended my stay 3 more days for some much needed R&R. Sharon & Phil are terrific hosts and very accommodating meeting me even when my flight arrived very late. The house is beautifully appointed and has everything you need for your stay. Sharon stocks local artisan treats and is super thoughtful. My favorite place to stop when traveling through NC.”

“Beautiful quaint country venue, the property is adequately sized for small to medium events and is spacious yet snug. The property was nicely maintained, although I feel like the smaller structures like the gazebo could benefit from some light pressure washing, or at least a jet-spray hosing off. There are only two single room restrooms accessible for the outside areas of the venue, so lines can form quickly, but they are very modern and spacious inside. There is a small firepit area that is set off to the left side of the venue that was perfect for a chilly autumn evening, although the wood pile could be placed better as it was not immediately obvious if there was more wood provided. Overall the location provided a beautiful backdrop for the event, and I preferred it greatly to a different larger outdoor venue in Chapel Hill that I attended a few years ago.”

“I grew up in this neighborhood. It was a great place to live. Mrs. M. Martin has been there 45+ years and babysat me as a child. The residents have changed but the historic trailer park is over seen buy Mrs Martin and many of her relatives reside or visit and keep a good eye on everything. M.R.T.P. Everything is gossip so create a good persona. Dogs. Motorcycles, ATV'S WERE always prohibited. Making it a boring place ( for me) growing up. Lots of chicano's and Hispanics. As it used to be predominantly white community.”

“Great location, very private and quiet considering it’s in the middle of town. Lots of room, patios to sit on, walking trails close by, good restaurants nearby, walking distance to campus. Nice place to stay. Highly recommend.”

“A group of 3 of us stayed here for a night on our way to Virginia. It was a nice room. Decent location. Was close to a Mexican restaurant, store & a McDonald's. The room was super clean. Bathroom was nice & tidy, had plenty of towels. There was a bench window seat bed also in the room. Had a nice desk with a comfy chair. I was happy with the room. Nicer than some rooms I've booked before! They had a huge continental breakfast. Cereal, muffins, bread, scones, cinnamon rolls, other pastries, fresh waffles you could make, biscuits with gravy, oatmeal & more. Was a pleasant stay for all 3 of us.”

“The staff is so friendly, the guy that runs it is really a nice guy. The rooms are a decent size and really clean. It's very peaceful no rift raft going in. Also no hassle if you don't have a credit card. This will be our go to hotel from now on.”

“What a great hotel in a great town. The hotel was in the perfect location, it was clean, comfortable, inviting, a great value and generally an all around a great stay. Obviously not all services were up and running during the pandemic, but that did not really matter at all. During our stay we met a couple members of the staff and they were awesome. Adonis who worked both the bar and the front desk was friendly, knowledgeable and an all around great person. What an asset! Stephanie was also very friendly, efficient professional and also made our stay a little better. Great Job all around.”

“What a gem! I attended a bachelorette party here and had a blast! Sherry and David are incredibly kind and welcoming; they make you feel like family and keep you smiling ear to ear. The home itself is beautiful and spacious, with a movie theater and game room. I especially love the access to the lake, and was sad we didn't stay longer to paddle board or get on the dock boat! I would definitely recommend staying here and hope to go back someday. Also ask to see the tiny house :)”

“I can't speak highly enough about my satisfaction with the services provided by Virginia, but also her comprehensive approach and caring nature when providing treatments to her patients initially and in an ongoing basis. Virginia did not attempt to simply treat me and charge a copay when I first walked into her office with a partially torn glute medius. Instead, she put me through a barrage of questions and movements to determine what the potential root cause of my injury was. Once we had identified a few of the major root causes, treatment began. In my case there were a number of things that were contributing to the recurring injury that had never even been discussed with a doctor or that I myself had considered. All of the diagnostic work that was done led to a multi-pronged approach for treatment. My treatment focused on constantly varied mobility work (that changed on a bi-weekly basis) to promote full range of motion, e-stim and dry needling to help loosen the various muscle groups and regions as well as reduce inflammation, and auxiliary work to help strengthen under-utilized supporting muscles and promote proper "firing" when doing specific lifts and movements. I found myPT through a recommendation from my CrossFit coach after multiple doctors from UNC and Duke Sports Medicine were unable to provide any medical advice or treatments other than "you need to rest it and let it heal" and charged my insurance >$200/visit. Virginia is not interested in simply charging patients, but getting to the actual root causes of their issues and fixing our broken bodies. Virginia is a no-nonsense kind of professional that will tell you things you don't want to hear in order for you to make educated decisions and put actions in place for treatment. While the treatment may not always be or feel comfortable, it delivered the results I needed not only to better understand how I hurt myself but also to know how to avoid injuries. I've been injury-free and none of the injuries have occurred since she treated me (over 3 years ago). While not everyone will have the mindset to engage in this kind of treatment and therapy, without Virginia I fear that I would still be in the vicious cycle of seeing specialists and getting advice of "just take some rest" without ever getting any better. For that, I am eternally grateful for my time and work with her as well as the education I got during my treatments.”
