I walked around the town and on the Riverwalk a lot, and it was nice to have easy access to clean restrooms and a water bottle filling spot! “Wonderful natural area!!! Opened in the fall of 2022 this is a well planned, well thought out and maintained natural area that was probably once a Pope family farm. My wife and I have been to almost every park and recreational area (with our dogs) in Orange county, but this is a stand out!! It is one of the best places for a quiet, peaceful, easy hike with the dogs. Open fields, pond, old barns, cemetery, woods and graveled road, all well marked, not muddy or hilly. Not to mention, a port-o-John and garbage can! Many other trails in the area have narrow, rooted, technically difficult paths, NOT HERE! There is a map (take a photo of it) and post card at the visitors barn. Well done owner and volunteers!! And thank you for preserving this wonderful piece of nature. We will be frequent visitors. If you bring your dogs, please pick up after them and be careful they don’t eat coyote poop!”
